Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa is currently riding his wave of success and said by the end of 2012 he will have banked in at least $100 million, placing him amongst the ranks of rap stars like Jay-Z and Diddy.

If all goes accordingly, Khalifa predicts he will be sitting atop millions and millions of dollars this time next year.

"Oh yeah, man, I'm going to make $100 million this year," he said. "No doubt, $100 million. The new mixtape [will] get everybody ready and get their wallets open." Wiz was clearly in high spirits last night, and although he's likely in for another big year, $100 million is a bit of a long shot. In the five years I've charted hip-hop's top earners, only 50 Cent has taken home nine figures in a single year (in 2008, thanks to a $100 million windfall from the sale of his stake in VitaminWater parent Glaceau to Coca-Cola). Only 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Diddy and Kanye West have earned nine figures in the past five years combined. (Forbes)

Last year, Khalifa banked in $11 million falling short to artists like Jay-Z, Diddy and Birdman.

Jay-Z (aka Shawn Carter) leads all comers once again with $37 million in earnings since last August. A majority of the dough is proceeds from his Blueprint 3 tour. Nipping at his heels, however, is fellow mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs, who raked in a neat $35 million from his Bad Boy record label, his Sean John clothing line and his lucrative Ciroc vodka deal. West may have landed at No. 3, but he's a ways down there at "only" $16 million. The rest of the top 10 had similar years, revenue-wise, with Cash Money honcho Bryan "Birdman" Williams tying Lil Wayne for the next two spots with $15 million, showing that tha Carter isn't doing too bad, either. Recently, the rapper's Taylor Gang artist Chevy Woods hit up SOHH and talked about his team's chemistry.

"I'm bringing my me and my laid back personality. The Taylor Gang is one gang, but we're all different. No one is trying to be other other. All of us do little things to spread their message to the world. Each Taylor Gang member is good with the lane of music they're doing ... we can jump into each others lane and make it work. As far as what I want to get out the game, I'm not looking for a big pot of gold or a certain amount of money or none of that sh**. I'm just lookin' for the repsect and the love." (SOHH)

Rap veteran Juicy J inked a deal with Khalifa's Taylor Gang last fall.

"We been talking about it and it just went down," Juicy said in an interview. "They like brothers to me. It's a blessing. I've been doing this over twenty years [and for] people to still recognize my music and appreciate my music, it's a blessing." Juicy J says that both he and Wiz are already hard at work. "Wiz got a new album coming out next year," he shares. "It's crazy. He's got over 40 songs done. He's still recording. And he's got a compilation album he's gonna put out featuring all of his artists." According to the Memphis native, as of now, those other artists are Chevy Woods, Lola Monroe, Neako and possibly others. (XXL Mag)
