Young Money rap star Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded contributing producer Dr. Luke recently unveiled a few tracks he has produced for the platinum-selling rapper's sophomore LP.
While it is unknown if all the tracks will make Nicki's finalized album, Luke named three records he produced for the rapper.
"'@jacklovescats @TheDoctorLuke starships is amazing! Well done' - I did not produce that song. I produced Va Va Voom, Masquerade and Forever," he tweeted last week. (Dr. Luke's Twitter)
Fellow producer RedOne recently admitted he got behind the boards for multiple Nicki tracks.
"It's four songs we did," Red said in an interview. "The tracks that I've worked with on Nicki Minaj are amazing, incredible. To be honest, I am so happy and excited for what people are going to think. She's an incredible artist, very inspiring. A character, a beautiful person, it's all in one." (Billboard)
A few weeks ago, the rapper's "Marilyn Monroe" record unofficially premiered online.
A new and unofficial track leaked to the web this week, in which the rapper appears to be channeling Barbie rather than her other male alter ego, Roman. The song is rumored to be titled "Marilyn Monroe" and features Minaj's sweeter, softer vocals instead of the rapid-fire rhymes we're accustomed to hearing from her. The song is likely unfinished, but this start certainly sounds promising. Minaj has a knack for straddling the line between hardcore rap fans and bubblegum pop lovers, with "Monroe" very clearly catering to the latter demo. (Billboard)
She recently decided to push back Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded's release date to the spring.
"New Album Date: April 3rd. Pink Friday: ROMAN RELOADED. But have no fear. Tons of surprises before then ;). Love Always, HB," she tweeted January 20th.
"Lmaoooooooooooooooooo. I'm crying" (Nicki Minaj's Twitter)
Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded is geared to drop Tuesday, April 3rd.
