Hollywood actor Nick Cannon has surprisingly announced a departure from his daily morning New York City radio show in light of recent health complications.
According to Cannon, the constant commitment needed to do radio is too much for his body to handle.
"Under doctor's orders, I have been asked to put my health first and cut back on some of my professional commitments in order to allow my body to get the rest that it needs to keep up with the demands of my multi-tasking schedule. It has been an absolute pleasure working with CBS RADIO and the 92.3 NOW morning show team and I would like to thank them for their unwavering support. I will continue to host my syndicated "Cannon's Countdown" weekend show and look forward to contributing to 92.3 NOW whenever possible. Even Superman has to sleep." (92.3 NOW)
Reports claim Cannon has had multiple doctor visits to address medical issues.
This morning on his popular radio show Nick Cannon announced to his fans that due to his hectic work schedule his health problems weren't getting any better and he was hospitalized last week for two blood clots in his lungs and an enlarged ventricle in his heart. Doctors say Nick's immune system is attacking his organs and his constant traveling is only making it worse. Enjoy some of that money Nick, slow down! Please. (The LIFE Files)
Last month, the actor/rapper opened up about his recent kidney failure diagnosis.
"Two days before New Year's (Eve) I started feeling this horrible pain in my back, I starting thinking maybe when I was boxing I got hit. . . . My wife, who was my angel throughout this entire thing. . . . She was like, 'You gotta go to a doctor' and I'm like 'No'. ... I thought I was good. The scariest part was when they said 'You can go home while we get these other tests back.' . . . They sent me home. . . . I got to my house and that's when I thought I was going to die... The pain came back twice as much and other stuff wasn't working and I had to go back to the hospital. ... I'm good. I've got to go back to the doctor a couple more times, but I'm fine -- I'm totally recovered." (SF Gate)
Prior to getting spotted at the recent 5th Annual BET Honors ceremony, Cannon's publicist issued a statement on his recovery.
Nick Cannon is out of the hospital after battling what wife Mariah Carey called "mild kidney failure." In a statement Monday, Cannon's publicist Tracy Nguyen (WIHN) said he's now "resting and recovering at home" and thanks everyone who was concerned about him. She says he'll return to his live morning radio show, "Rollin' with Nick Cannon," on Jan. 17. (Associated Press)
