News: Jay-Z's Mother-In-Law Speaks On Blue Ivy Carter, Talks Granny Duties

Grammy-winning rapper Jay-Z's mother-in-law, Tina Knowles, has shared her take on the rap mogul's newborn daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, and what grandmother duties she expects to inherit.
When asked for a description, Knowles simply labeled her granddaughter beautiful.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z's newborn daughter Blue Ivy is already charming all the right people, including her grandma. "She's doing great," a beaming Tina Knowles told PEOPLE at the Runway to Win fundraising reception for Barack Obama in New York. "She's beautiful." As for her duties as a doting grandma, Knowles calls them "amazing," adding, "It's the second best job I've ever had." Although her adoration for the new addition to her family was certainly instantaneous, Knowles is waiting to decide which parent little Blue resembles most. "She's only a month old," she says. "So we have to give her a minute." (PEOPLE)
A few nights ago, Jay performed his Blue Ivy-dedicated "Glory" record.
As Jay-Z transitioned from hit song to hit song at a Carnegie Hall concert Monday night, so did the lighting, changing from red to white to blue. The veteran rapper then performed his latest hit, "Glory," about his 1-month-old daughter with Beyoncé, Blue Ivy Carter. "I didn't think I was going to make it through that one," he said, sounding emotional. "That was tough." It was one of the many jams Jay-Z performed at New York's famed venue, his latest achievement in music domination. The rapper is the second hip-hop act to perform at Carnegie Hall. Wyclef Jean did so in 2001 with Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton and Whitney Houston. (National Public Radio)
The rap mogul's wife, Beyonce Knowles-Carter, also made her post-pregnancy appearance.
There was no way Beyoncé was going to miss hubby Jay-Z's first gig at Carnegie Hall on Monday night. The new mom made a huge splash just walking into the show, he first public appearance since the birth of Blue Ivy Carter last month. Wearing a form-fitting Alice Temperly dress, four-inch Christian Louboutin heels and holding a gold Alexander McQueen clutch, the singer looked in fighting form for her big night out. (MTV)
Last month, former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland described Blue Ivy.
"She's just more precious than a diamond. She's just so stunning. I'm so happy for my sister and her husband," Rowland said in an interview. "She's beautiful. [laughs] [Will I see the baby every chance I get?] Absolutely. I have to be a good aunt. [laughs] She's an incredible mother. I'm so incredibly proud of her. So proud of her. You know what?
