[With Cash Money Content's new Get It Girls: A Harlem Girl Love Novel book now in stores, author Treasure Blue spots you five reasons to get your hands on his must-read novel.]
1. And I Am Telling You...
My first biggest reason to buy Get It Girls is the very reason I began writing in the first place, to give up the truth and expose the mistakes I, and many others made in our lifetime, so they don't needlessly have to fall victim to some of the same pitfalls and traps. Many, many, mothers and young girls have written thanking me for writing such an open and honest novel, that not only gives them provocative food for thought, but was also equally entertaining. Mothers with children often express how they only wished they had read such a book when they were younger, because they felt they never would have made some of those life-changing events if they only knew about them prior. But, also, to hear these same women, tell me that they will however, ensure that their own children or family read my stories to provide them with a birds-eye view on the reality of life. To this very day, I will meet a fan at an event, and they will thank me for telling their life story and was no longer ashamed about the mistakes they made in the past, and realize only now that they were not the only person who had made them, for they are only human and begin to heal.
2. Can't Keep My Eyes Off You
Every person I met who read Get it Girls, told me how they simply could not put the book down once they started reading it. They say they become so enthralled in the story, that it's as if they were right there.
3. Real Talk
None of my stories contain idle banality. I don't have characters that are seemingly superhuman and can catch bullets with their teeth. I don't do that. All my characters are people you can relate to, a family member, a classmate, a next door neighbor, etc. I've read many books in my lifetime, good and bad, but the biggest hang up I hate most is when the author insults my intelligence. I will NEVER do that to my readers, because everyone has flaws.
4. Theater of the Mind
I love epic moments while reading a good novel. Moments where it evokes your emotions and I do just that and try to tug at every emotional fiber in your body. I want to make you laugh, I want to make you cry, I want you to hate a character so much that you will curse them at the top of your lungs. That's the difference between a good writer and a great writer, Treasure Blue will never tell you a just a mere story - my mission is to make you FEEL the story as well.
5. You Like My Style
One of the greatest compliments I ever will receive is when after a person reads this, they will buy Get It Girls and say, "D*mn, Treasure Blue is now my favorite author," and tell their family or friends to go out and get it!
