New York rappers French Montana and LL Cool J have taken their love for their hometown Giants winning Sunday's Super Bowl XLVI game and released their own respective tribute tracks.
Building off the buzz of his current "Shot Caller" anthem, Montana dropped his Giants remix Monday (February 6) evening.
French Montana celebrates his home team's victory at Super Bowl XLVI with his New York Giants remix to "Shot Caller." The Bad Boy signee honors the champs including Victor Cruz and MVP Eli Manning. "We them shot callers, Super Bowl ballers," he raps. "Just another win, just another ring, give 'em time to breathe, let Madonna sing." (Rap-Up)
LL Cool J raised eyebrows by putting out his Z-Trip-produced record, "Super Baller," the same night.
Don't call it a comeback! In light of the Giants' come-from-behind win over the Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI, New York native LL Cool J has released a song inspired by their victory. The song, Super Baller, was produced by Z-Trip and features a sample from the FOX NFL Sunday theme song. The track was done immediately following the game. "The track was done in 30 minutes," Z-Trip posted on his website. "Even though LL was sick, he still sounds tight as hell!" (The Insider)
Last week, hitmaker Timbaland dropped a dedication track to New England Patriots superstar Rob Gronkowski.
The rapper Timbaland wrote the music for and was an executive producer of the song "Rob 'Gronk' Gronkowski." The video shows highlights from Gronkowski's 2011 season and already has more than 10,000 views. Wizz Dumb was also an executive producer of the song, which featured the rapper Brasco alongside Timbaland. It's a longshot, but maybe Bruins winger Brad Marchand will continue to show off his rapping skills and make another Gronkowski tribute song if the Pats win on Sunday. (NESN)
The New York Giants were victorious after defeating the New England Patriots 21-17 Sunday night.
Eli Manning is the other Manning no more. Master of the fourth quarter rally this season, Manning did it again --- just as he did four seasons ago --- and got one up on older brother Peyton by leading the game-winning touchdown drive in the final minutes as the New York Giants stole another championship from the New England Patriots with a 21-17 victory Sunday night in Super Bowl XLVI.
