Within the past 24 hours, the death of music icon Whitney Houston has shocked the entire world, especially amongst hip-hop stars as seen by public condolences from Drake, Diddy, Nicki Minaj, Fat Joe, G-Unit and more.

Taking to Twitter, the hip-hop stars expressed just how unexpected Houston's death was.

"RIP Whitney Houston.," Drake tweeted February 12th. (Drake's Twitter)

Rap mogul Diddy admitted how much pain Houston's death caused him.

"Whitney Houston!!! OMG!! I really can't believe this.. This is one of the saddest days ever..," he tweeted.

Brooklyn rap veteran Lil Kim paid homage to the late singer's legacy.

Nicki Minaj was in disbelief following Houston's pronounced death.

Terror Squad leader Fat Joe cited Houston with legendary status.

Reports of Houston's passing hit the Internet late Saturday evening.

Legendary pop singer Whitney Houston was found dead Saturday at a Beverly Hills, California, hotel, officials said. She was 48. The entertainer, whose incredible talent was discovered at an early age, was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. (6:55 p.m. ET) at the Beverly Hilton hotel despite resuscitation efforts, a police spokesman said. Beverly Hills Police Lt. Mark Rosen said there were "no obvious signs of criminal intent" and that the cause of her death is being investigated. Houston's bodyguard found her body, said Courtney Barnes, publicist for hip-hop artist Ray J, who was dating the pop diva. (CNN)
