Grand Hustle rapper B.o.B. opens up on his short-lived rap dispute with Odd Future leader Tyler, the Creator last year and why beef records are not on his to-do list in the new GQ magazine.

Based on an excerpt from his interview, B.o.B. downplays any seriousness behind the headline-generating dispute.

"He just heard me on the radio rapping about whatever the f*ck I was rapping about and was like, 'Who the fuck is this guy?'" B.o.B said. "And it ended up in his lyrics. I didn't think it was gonna escalate. The whole beef thing is kinda lame. It's like 'F*ck this, f*ck that!' I'm not gonna walk around the earth mad at some random person. It's pointless." (GQ)

Last summer, "Airplanes" producer Alex Da Kid laughed off Tyler's issues.

"Yeah, I saw that on Twitter. I think Tyler is dope. His whole thing is going around just saying what he feels and just being honest. I'm totally with people having honest opinions. I wish more people would have that," Alex explained. "People, sometime they have an opinion but they won't say it because it's not politically right to do it. I don't care if people dislike my music or like it, as long as they hear it and they have an opinion on it, then that's the beautiful thing. That's what arts all about. I would way prefer Tyler to hate my music, than for him to not even know who I was." (VIBE)

In May, B.o.B. described releasing his "No Future" diss record aimed at the crew for being name checked on Tyler's "Yonkers" song earlier in the year.

"I remember when I made that, I was in my basement," the Grammy-nominated rapper told Sway. "I was like, 'You know what, man? I just wanna rap.' So I just threw together a beat and we just leaked it and put it out there...Listen, you cannot accept competition and still be competitive. It's when you lose, when you're on the losing end, that's when it gets serious and escalated. But I think it wasn't really anything that serious." (MTV)

B.o.B. also previously said his "No Future" diss was less serious than perceived.

"I feel like some people perceived it as a shot but I feel like people love to hate," B.o.B. explained in an interview referring to Tyler the Creator's jab. "When he said the line, my fans weren't coming at me like, 'B.o.B., he's dissing you, he's dissing you!' Nobody was saying that. So I feel there's some things people can take it. You can take it and just make whatever you want out of it. But I don't harbor any negative emotions at all." (The Source)
