In December, group member Joe Budden said fans could expect the LP to drop in April.
"I want to talk about the Slaughterhouse project. It's coming this April, hopefully," Budden said during a "1st & 10" ESPN appearance. "Shout-out to my group, by the way - Royce, Joell, Crooked - signed to Eminem's Shady Records. The album's phenomenal. So I want to tell all the sports fans out there to look out for it." ("1st & 10")
A month prior, Budden revealed their follow-up to 2009's debut was nearly completed.
"I've heard interviews from Royce [Da 5'9], Joell [Ortiz] andCrooked I where they said we were seventy-five percent done, but Royce came up to New York and we worked on a few records--I think we're about ninety five percent done," he continued. "I'm hoping the first single will come in January or December, but naturally Eminem would have the last word on that." (RapFix)
Over the summer, Joell Ortiz details how he felt confident in what fans could expect from the LP.
"Usually I'm the one that's like, 'We're just working hard and in the studio,' -- I'm just saying, the things we're doing are epic. Our album is going to be incredible," Ortiz said in an interview. "I'm so excited, like real talk, it doesn't even make sense. I don't really care who you're talking about. Slaughterhouse is going to be that sh*t." ("Shade 45")
