SOHH Whatcha Think: Obama Tells SOPA Bill To Chill + Dame Dash Rises Again?! [Click Here & Speak]

Thank you, Based Obama, for not supporting SOPA. These CD and DVD street bootleggers who've been put out of work because of all the file sharing and downloading really thought they was gonna start eatin' again, too.
Barack stood tall against SOPA and decided it wasn't cool. While this doesn't mean the bill is dead, it does mean that, if the powers that be ever want to see it approved, some changes will have to be made.
"The growing anti-SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) support that has swept through the gaming and Internet community found a very big ally today. With websites like Reddit and Wikipedia and gaming organizations like Major League Gaming prepared for a blackout on January 18th - the same day that the House Judiciary Committee hearing on HR 3261was scheduled in Washington, D.C. - President Barack Obama has stepped in and said he would not support the bill."(Forbes)
While I definitely agree that there should be some regulation against music piracy, SOPA wanted too much damn power. Something as simple as a user-posted link could shut down an entire Web site. For those of you in the know, were you for or against SOPA?
SOPA has been delayed, for now. The House has agreed to revisit the issue next month, but they now know the White House will veto any bill that's not more narrowly focused.(Forbes)
In other news ... Dame Dash is ready to give the fashion world another shot. The co-founder of Rocawear is reintroducing his cloting line, named Cavi.
During episode two of "Cavi Life," a series of episodes focusing on Damon Dash and his Cavi clothing line, Dash took his team to Miami to collaborate on the line and also meet up with rapper Cam'ron on the set of his new movie. Ironically "Cavi Life" episode two was released a little over a week before today's announcement that Rocawear, a company Dash was formerly co-founder of, laid off close to 30 employees.(Hip Hop DX)
Cavi officially launched a few years back, but it didn't seem like the hood was checkin' for it at that time.
The Cavi clothing line was established in 2004 but seemed to lessen in popularity over the past few years. The clothing line is described as being "inspired by the multifaceted, on-the-go lifestyle of today's man and woman."(Hip Hop DX)
The era of the popular hip hop clothing brand has seen better days. Over the past few years, it's been more about finding a personal style than rocking a particular "brand." But maybe Dame is gonna change that, what do you think?
Check out Dame discussing Cavi below:
