Actor/Rapper Nick Cannon appears to be back on his feet following a publicized hospitalization earlier this month after getting spotted at the 5 Annual BET Honors ceremony.
There in support of his wife/singer Mariah Carey, Cannon took the stage with his son.
BET recognized the achievements of legends in the fields of music, literature, entertainment, media, service, and education at its 5th Annual BET Honors. Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Maya Angelou, and Spike Lee were among the honorees at Saturday's taping at Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. The star-studded evening featured musical performances and touching tributes. L.A. Reid bestowed praise on Mariah Carey before Patti LaBelle left the diva in tears while performing her classic ballad "Hero." Nick Cannon honored his wife with an emotional speech as he held their son Moroccan (his sister Monroe was backstage feeling camera shy). A grateful Mariah thanked everyone for their love and support as she accepted her award. (Rap-Up)
Earlier in the week, Cannon's publicist revealed he was back home and in recovery mode following mild kidney failture.
Nick Cannon is out of the hospital after battling what wife Mariah Carey called "mild kidney failure." In a statement Monday, Cannon's publicist Tracy Nguyen (WIHN) said he's now "resting and recovering at home" and thanks everyone who was concerned about him. She says he'll return to his live morning radio show, "Rollin' with Nick Cannon," on Jan. 17. (Associated Press)
Last week, the comedic actor hit up Twitter to thank concerned fans and reveal getting transferred from Colorado back to his home state.
"Currently being transfered to a hospital in LA. Thank you all for all your love, prayers and concern. You know me... I will be a'ight," he tweeted January 4th. (Nick Cannon's Twitter)
Carey broke the news of her husband's medical problems days prior.
"This is us in the hospital - role reversal; Last year it was me attached to the machines (after having dembabies) and Nick was there with me through it, and now here we are. We're trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful. They tried to kick me out of the hospital but here I am pon de bed with Mr. C. We're doing OK but we're "straaaaaanded in Aspen". #DramaticDivaPlace (I know, we could be in a lot worse places) but the truth is as long as we're together, we're OK. I'm not trying to make light out of the situation because it's a serious moment that's very tough on all of us so please keep us and our family in your prayers. LYM." (Mariah Carey's Blog)
