Just 48 hours away from its re-opening, rap mogul Jay-Z's 40/40 Club renovation details have begun circulating online revealing the scoop on what to expect once the doors re-open for business.
According to reports, the New York City nightclub will feature expanded rooms and a new food menu.
What's new? Custom-illuminated amber resin bar tops, illuminated bottle-display towers, leather wall upholstery, plush lounge banquettes and giant television screens, as well as a second floor catwalk so guests can ogle each other. The club's four VIP rooms also got a make-over, with custom chandeliers, oak paneling with silver leaf molding, oak-wood floors, custom billiard tables and bespoke lounge seating; an extra VIP room was also added. Jay-Z's private room is the biggest of the five VIP rooms by far at 950 square feet compared with the other rooms, that are a paltry 250 square feet each. "In Jay-Z's room you can be in your own club, with 100 guests," said a spokeswoman. Guests can order from a new menu by Jay-Z's personal chef, Mike Shand, who is amping up the sports-bar menu and taking typical sports food like wings and tacos "to the next level." (New York Post)
There were initial plans to re-open the hot spot late last year.
The original reopening was scheduled for November, but the Brooklyn born rapper and expectant father wanted to make sure everything is perfect before he re-opens the doors. The overall vision is to capture the "energy, grandeur, and opulence of NYC nightlife." (Haute Living)
As of now, the invite-only guest list features Big Apple sports stars from the New York Yankees and New York Giants.
Jay-Z will get a break from Daddy Duty on Jan. 18. The music mogul - who welcomed daughter Blue Ivy Carter with wife Beyonce over the weekend - is scheduled to attend the grand re-opening of his 40/40 Club next week, amNewYork has confirmed. Also on the guest list for the invite-only soiree: Alex Rodriguez, C.C. Sabathia and the Giants' Victor Cruz. The Flatiron-area club underwent massive renovations, reportedly in the neighborhood of $10 million, since closing last year. (AM NY)
Young Hov's popular franchise is expected to begin popping up in select airports.
In the first phase of the agreement, Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services, a global leader in hospitality and food service, will give travelers access to the elite, modern sports bar to watch the game of their choice in an opulent lounge setting, all without leaving the airport. The division of Delaware North Companies operates dozens of national and regional brand restaurants and shops at more than 20 major U.S. airports. (Market Wire)
