G.O.O.D. Music's Kid Cudi has stepped forward to clear the air on making weekend headlines after trashing a stage set in Australia and vowed to do the same if he ever experiences similar incidents.
Writing on his Tumblr blog, Cudder defended his media-generating actions and blamed on-stage occasions for sparking a fury.
"If my set is EVER cut short at any show, im trashing the stage. Not out of anger, it takes a lot to get me furious nowadays, but out of principle. The fans always deserve a full set at all shows, especially when they spend their hard earned money on expensive tickets. A lot of artist wouldnt do what I did in Australia, but I will. Spread the word. No matter the circumstance, cut my set short, im breaking shit. And next time im startin a riot. Me and my fans. Cause promoters will sometime take advantage of the artists, and u gotta let em know what time it is. Cutting nobody any slack." (Kid Cudi's Tumblr)
Coverage of his on-stage antics have spread online over the past 48 hours.
Footage, which captures him trashing the stage, has hit the web. According to the uploader, Cudi was asked to end his set a half hour early, but refused to do so and kept performing. His mic got cut, prompting him to try to use one of the drum mics. When it didn't work out either, Cudi lost it. He proceeded to knock over the properties including lights and sound equipments, drawing loud cheers from the crowd. At one point, he disappeared to the backstage but his band continued playing the music. (Ace Showbiz)
Cudi's shortened set also sparked a negative reaction from fans.
According to Tonedeaf, midway through his performance, Cudi flew into a rage when organizers cut off his mic before he could perform his big hits like 'Day 'n' Nite' and 'Pursuit of Happiness.' In anger, the rapper knocked down lights and speakers before exiting the stage. This didn't sit well with concertgoers who began throwing plastic water bottles and debris and chanting "Cudi, Cudi, Cudi." Security was able to get the crowd to disperse from the scene but only after the stage was littered with garbage. (Pop Crush)
Outside of stage antics, Cudi's upcoming WZRD joint album is slated to drop next month.
Kid Cudi rolls out the tracklisting for his rock album WZRD, a collaboration with "Day 'N' Nite" producer Dot Da Genius. The 10 tracks include the singles "Brake" and "Teleport 2 Me, Jamie," named after Cudi's girlfriend Jamie Baratta. 1. "The Arrival" 2. "High Off Life" 3. "The Dream Time Machine" 4. "Love Hard" 5.
