[SOHH highlights a hot single each week and offers a unique look at the record. After Houston rap newcomer Marcus Manchild gave us the scoop on his "We Wrong" anthem, West Coast rapper Roc C styles up his new "Styllions" record.]

I think the song that stands out the most from my new Stoned Genius album is probably the Madlib joint because for the longest, people have been saying, "Why don't you have any songs with Madlib?" and blah, blah, blah.

Before Stoned was even in the picture, I've had many albums and records with Madlib but I just felt like the timing was right for now to put that joint out with Blu and Rapper Big Pooh. We're all families and good homies. We're all the same.

I felt like "Styllions" captured four different elements all on one track. Actually, I would say five because I got Madlib doing the beat, I've got Blu, I've got Pooh and everyone who helped put this together.

The funniest thing is you should consider everyone I got on this. I got Big Pooh, Madlib and Blu all on the same record. For one, everyone has said you can hardly get a hold of Madlib or find him and blah, blah, blah. I made that happen. Rapper Big Pooh. People were saying he's so big and he's always doing blah, blah, blah. They said it'd be too hard to get a hold of him. I made that happen. Look at Blu, people were saying he's out and doing what he do.

I made all of that come together collectively and we all got on one plane and it all came out pretty good. I think it really meshed. The goal was to make it come out really good. I figured at the end of the day, we're all hard critics and so I wanted people to decide if we captured what we were trying to capture on the record.

Roc C is known for holding down the West Coast on the underground level and slowly emerging with commercial success. With Stoned Genius representing his third solo outing, the rapper is often associated with beatmakers like Alchemist, Madlib, Oh No and Jake One. He also shares a close relationship with rappers Charli2na, Big Pooh and more.
