R&B singer Ester Dean is making headlines this week by announcing she is the latest artist to join rap mogul Jay-Z's Roc Nation management team.
While details are still developing, Dean broke the news of her new management situation on New Year's Eve.
"I'm so Grateful 4 my Team Past and Present! Bringing in the New Year with my new Team @RocNation 2012 #JayBrown #Tata #Omar," she tweeted December 31st. (Ester Dean's Twitter)
This year will likely see new music, including an album, from Dean.
Entering 2012, the singer/songwriter who has contributed to the lyrics of Rihanna's "Rude Boy" and Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass," is set to release her debut album later this year. She also has a voice-over role where she plays Sloth Siren in Ice Age 4: Continental Drift, which hits theaters on July 13. (VIBE)
Her buzz sprouted three years ago with a duet alongside R&B star Chris Brown.
In 2009, the singer-songwriter scored a hit of her own with her Chris Brown-assisted single "Drop It Low." Her debut album is due later this year on Interscope Records. 2012 is shaping up to be another big year for Dean, who will also star in the comedy Pitch Perfect and lend her voice to the animated film Ice Age: Continental Drift. In 2010, Grammy-winning singer Rihanna joined forces with Jay's management team.
The singer announced Wednesday (October 20) that she will now be managed by mentor and former Def Jam exec Jay-Z's Roc Nation company. The chart-ruling singer spilled the beans to The Associated Press, saying in a statement she's "so excited to take this next step in my career."
