A week after DMX shook off some crazed fan attacking him in Long Beach, the man has come forward to explain his motivation.
According to the fan, he simply wanted to show love, not harm, toward X.
The man who allegedly tried to choke out DMX on stage last week wants to clear his name -- telling TMZ, he never tried to attack the rapper ... he was simply trying to give him a hug, from one ex-con to another. You probably don't recognize the guy -- but the alleged attacker is none other than underground skate legend Andy Roy ... and Andy claims he meant no harm when he jumped on stage at X's performance in Long Beach last Thursday, telling us, "I just wanted to give him a Top Ramen hug." Andy says he lived off Top Ramen in jail -- and he wanted to give DMX a hug in solidarity, since the rapper was recently released from the clink as well. According to Andy, it was all a misunderstanding -- adding, "DMX is sick man! RUFF RUFF RUFF!" (TMZ)
Footage of Roy attacking X hit the Internet in early January.
A crazed fan got his hands around DMX's throat for a split second at a concert in Long Beach last night .... and it was all caught on tape. X was performing at the Cáfe Sevilla in Long Beach ... and was just about to start his second song when some dumb a** hopped on stage and attacked the rapper. Security rushed right in -- and put the stage intruder in a MONSTER choke hold -- then wrangled him off the stage. The DJ briefly stopped the music during the melee ... but X immediately ordered him to get back to spinnin' ... yelling, "We don't stop the music for s**t!" Ruff night. (TMZ)
X's show came just days after appearing at rap star Lil Wayne's Miami concert.
"Tonight is history 'cause I got a f---ing legend standing behind me," an excited Wayne tells the crowd from the stage. "When I turned around, I saw this ni---, I was like, 'Stop the music and let these motherf---as know that DMX is in this b*tch.'" It's a rare thing to see Weezy star struck, but he did his best to explain to the crowd just how happy he was to see DMX in the building. "I remember when I was 17 years old, I was on the world's biggest hip-hop tour. It was called the Ruff Ryders/Cash Money tour, and you was rockin' that sh--," he said to DMX. "This is f---ing crazy, it's crazy," Wayne added, relinquishing the mic, letting DMX take front and center to perform a medley of hits including "Get At Me Dog" and "What These B*tches Want." Prior to M.I.A., X was spotted rocking a holiday party in New York.
During Funkmaster Flex's Christmas Party, Earl Simmons or DMX to you and I, surprised the audience with his appearance and the following stage performance. Partygoers at the Santos Party House were in disbelief, as DMX ran through some popular songs off his lengthy catalog. X also spat an acapella verse showing he is still with nice with [the] mic. He also announced new music is on the way in the new year, with a new project titled Undisputed scheduled to drop March 26th. (Soul Culture UK)
