Brooklyn rapper Saigon has announced plans to link back up with super producer Just Blaze for a new record, One Foot in the Grave, slated to hit stores in late January.
Giving his Twitter followers the head's up, Sai hyped up the forthcoming release.
"Okay so now its OFFICIAL. New Street Album/Mixtape with@JustBlaze Drops January 24th. WS3: One Foot In The Grave.....This sh*t is GOLDEN," he tweeted December 10th.
"January 24th.. Saigon & Just Blaze present 'One Foot In The Grave'....... History will be made AGAIN.... GSNT Chapter soon after"
"One Foot In The Grave is a f*cking MASTERPIECE......@JustBlaze is the host... Its a little different than GSNT.. Some Yardfather sh*t" (Saigon's Twitter)
Last year, Sai rated Blaze over Kanye West and said Timbaland was a close contender for being his all-time favorite producer.
"I'm not even being biased--100 percent honest--I would have to say Just Blaze is a better producer than Kanye West. Just is more versatile. Kanye West shines when he does those soulful-type music--"You Don't Know My Name," "All Falls Down." But I think Just Blaze masters that. He can do that, then he can do a song like "PSA," "Can't Let You Go" by Fabolous, and it sounds totally different. He's doing real pop-eclectic stuff [now] and it sounds incredible. They're both super-great, but the only producer I'd compare to Just is Timbaland. That's the only producer with that versatility." (VIBE)
Following the accolade, SOHH hit up Just to get his reaction.
"I don't really have too much of a comment on that," Blaze modestly told SOHH about Sai's co-sign. "I appreciate it and like I said online the other night, I'm not really into the ratings and comparisons. We all make good music and if I'm anybody's favorite, I'm just honored to be their favorite. Beyond that, we've all got different things and we all do them well, so, I'm just happy and honored to be considered among other great names of those who I consider to be great." (SOHH)
In February, Sai's long-awaited Greatest Story Never Told album debuted on the sales chart.
Brooklyn rapper Saigon's long-awaited Greatest Story Never Told finally landed on the chart this week at No. 61. With seven days in the books, the "Yard Father's" debut has sold 11,300 copies. (SOHH Sales Wrap)
