News: Kanye West, Jay-Z & Frank Ocean Land Album Of The Year Honors In TIME & Rolling Stone

Grammy-winning rap duo Jay-Z and Kanye West along with music newcomer Frank Ocean have landed spots on renowned publications TIME and Rolling Stone's respective Top 10 albums of 2011 lists.

On TIME's list, rap veterans the Beastie Boys' Hot Sauce Committee Part II also made it in the Top 10.

Although Ocean did not make Rolling Stone's list, Jay and Ye's Watch the Throne fell one slot shy from the number one slot.

To date, Jay and Ye's new joint album has moved over 1.1 million copies.

Grammy-winning rap duo Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne moved down 12 notches to No. 42 with 20,000. After 17 weeks, their joint effort has sold 1,123,900 pieces. (SOHH Sales Wrap)

Ocean's Nostalgia, Ultra project was released through Def Jam in mid-2011.

It was also 2009 Frank Ocean met the Odd Future and began writing music for the crew while making guest appearances on their mixtapes. In 2011, as Odd Future was making waves, Ocean broke out on his own with the Nostalgia, Ultra mixtape. Def Jam would condense the mixtape down to an EP and release Nostalgia, LITE that same year.
