Rap mogul Jay-Z is showing off his love for wife/singer Beyonce Knowles-Carter by reportedly joining her on a pregnancy-based vegan diet.
According to reports, Jay is watching his calorie intake alongside Bey.
Jay-Z is eating like a pregnant woman! The 42-year-old dad-to-be is supporting Beyonce by dieting with her. A source tells the new Us Weekly -- on stands Friday -- that the duo are maintaining a "partially vegan diet." "Jay's trying to be disciplined, and he needs the energy to support her," a source adds. Beyonce, 30, isn't going to let herself go just because she's expecting! "I've been really conscious [about food]," she told 20/20. "I've been trying my best not to lose control!" (Us Weekly)
On her recent "20/20" television interview, Bey denied food cravings rumors involving ice cream and hot chili sauce.
"Not really anything crazy," Bey told Katie Couric. "I've read that I like ketchup on everything," she added, saying that the rumor is not true. And when Couric tried to confirm other Internet whispers about what the singer is allegedly making hubby Jay-Z rush out to the corner bodega for at 2 in the morning, Beyoncé said the wildest one is also not true. "I also read that you like ice cream with hot chili sauce," Couric said. "Yeah, that's very strange," responded Beyonce, who was dressed in flowing purple pants with a white pattern, a black leather jacket and black pregnancy top with a subtle blue design. "Is that true?" Couric pressed. "No it is not. I was on a plane and the flight attendant came and was like, 'I have your hot sauce and pickles and bananas.' I like, 'that is absolutely disgusting, what are you doing?' He's like, 'I read it on the Internet.'" (MTV)
Outside of food talk, Hov recently opened up about preparing for fatherhood and feeling a bit apprehensive about following in his late dad's footsteps.
"It makes me a little paranoid because no matter what, I don't think any person, or any male, goes into a relationship thinking that they're going to leave or wouldn't be there," he tells PEOPLE at GQ's Men of the Year party at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood. "I think the circumstances a lot of times dictates things, right?" But the music mogul says he is not his father, a subject he also addresses on "New Day" from his new album, Watch the Throne. "I'm just a different kind of guy," he says. "I'm a highly principled person." "I come from a real place where you had to be a highly principled person," he continues, "so, I'm pretty confident that I'll figure it out." (People)
Recent reports suggest Beyonce and Jay may have an earlier-than-expected baby arrival.
"Oh Baby!" Beyoncé shouts while rubbing her baby bump on the set of her "Countdown" video, back in September. While holding up a copy of the New York Daily News featuring the preggers singer on the cover, Beyoncé reveals that she is six months pregnant at the time of shooting. The news suggests that, contrary to earlier reports of a February due date, Beyoncé and Jay-Z expect a December arrival. (Billboard)
