Each week, SOHH asks two entertainment personalities to name their Top 5 rappers of all-time. To make things tricky, we've created a "Hall of Fame" of emcees (see right) who are universally respected and therefore may not be mentioned. After The Away Team gave us a look at their fave picks, hip-hop photographer Dirty Souf Yankee flashes her top five.]
Ludacris. I think Ludacris is extremely underrated. I feel like he does not get a lot of the props he deserves. He's a lyricist. He says some off-the-wall stuff. I think a part of Nicki Minaj's style comes from how he raps and rhymes. I think the way he raps sometimes overshadows what he's saying but I think he's dope.
Andre 3000. Once again, he is someone who is extremely creative and always doing some off-the-wall stuff. To me, I think he's extremely talented.
Wordspit. I think one of my favorite underground artists right now is Wordspit. I think he's really, really dope and he's an amazing freestyler. You can catch him anywhere doing a cypher. He's always rapping. He's in love with hip-hop. You can tell it through his music.
Redman. I f*ck with Redman. I f*ck with Redman a lot! I think he's one of those people, who, because he was always so funny and silly, I never really paid a lot of attention to. But more recently, being someone who has shot [photos] a lot in the past couple years, I've realized he's really nice.
Joe Budden. Since we're talking about the Jersey territory I have to give it up to him. He's one of my favorites. His whole Internet thing was big and he's made songs that are really emotional. If you really listened to his songs, he had you feel the pain or whatever it was that he was going through.
