News: Freddie Gibbs Admits Sneaking Weed By TSA, Lights Up Full Investigation

Indiana rapper Freddie Gibbs' bragging about creeping marijuana through the national Transportation Security Administration this week may cost an employee their job, as an investigation is currently underway.
TSA has released a statement revealing its plan to get to the bottom of the incident.
"TSA takes all allegations of inappropriate conduct seriously and is investigating this claim," says a spokesperson for the TSA. " Should the claims be substantiated, TSA will take appropriate disciplinary steps and refer the alleged possession of an illegal substance to law enforcement." (Forbes)
This week, reports of Gibbs' lucky break emerged across the Internet.
Someone in the Transportation Security Administration was feeling charitable this week. When rapper Freddie Gibbs attempted to pass through airport security with two sizeable bags of weed in his luggage, instead of confiscating the drugs, an unidentified security agent returned them in the suitcase with a note reading "C'mon son." Gibbs tweeted a photo of the note yesterday morning, though he seems to have removed it since (an archived photo can be found here). Later that day, the "Look Easy" rapper posted another status update: "Bout to go thru security at the airport again." Let's hope he was a little more careful with his luggage this time. In addition to airport security, TSA is known for protecting highways and railroads from potential hazards.
TSA employs a risk-based strategy to secure U.S. transportation systems, working closely with stakeholders in aviation, rail, transit, highway, and pipeline sectors, as well as the partners in the law enforcement and intelligence community. The agency continuously sets the standard for excellence in transportation security through its people, processes, technologies and use of intelligence to drive operations. (TSA)
While rappers have vouched for the legalization of marijuana in the past, New York rapper Smoke DZA recently hit up SOHH and offered his opinion on the debate.
"I hope not," Smoke told SOHH when asked if he thinks marijuana will ever be legalized. "I would rather it be decriminalized than legalized. My whole thing is, on that subject, is when you legalize something, you give [the government] a chance to give you whatever they want. It's just like when Yahoo took over Myspace, it wasn't that cool any more. Decriminalizing would be the way to go because you could smoke your weed wherever you want and nobody could tell you anything. That's decriminalizing something. That's not getting penalized. But when you legalize it and you're able to buy it over the counter, they're sprinkling other stuff in the product. It's probably not the same [levels of] THC you're going to get. I'm not into legalizing, I'm into decriminalizing." (SOHH)
