"Love & Hip Hop" cast member Emily B recently talked about season two coming to a close and why she believes ex-boyfriend Fabolous marks the last music industry romance she will ever have.
Sharing a three year-old son with Fab, Emily B said she wants her future Mr. Right to be outside of the entertainment industry.
"What love life? It's non-existent. I'm in that weird in between stage where I'm not where I was, but I'm also not ready to date anyone else. [Date another rapper?] Absolutely not. I would prefer not to date anyone else in the music industry. I'd like to date someone with a normal life, like a school teacher. In fact there's a teacher at my daughters school that I have a little crush on...I'm just kidding. Hmmm, I guess just to take a break. We just wrapped shooting and I have a clothing line coming in the fall of 2012 and I've been doing a lot of styling. So I guess my holiday wish is just have some quiet time with my kids." Earlier this month, F-a-b-o said he could not fully co-sign his "Love & Hip Hop" portrayal.
"I don't think so," Fab told radio host Angie Martinez when asked if he would ever appear in "Love & Hip Hop." "I really went to support [girlfriend] Emily and something she was doing and I guess her show [cameras] were there and of course they took that and put a trailer or something together and put me in the trailer. ... It's just not my cup of tea. It's one side of what's going on and I don't bash it but I'm really not in support of it either. I don't think it depicts me as I am. It just depicts a one-sided version of what's really going on. It's a few different things that I don't agree with, with the show. Ownership is one of them, there's no ownership on her side. She's kind of a piece of somebody else's show and I'm not with that. I put too many years in business of me working in this industry for me to be a piece of somebody else's things." (Hot 97)
Emily B recently said she had no issues with cast member Kimbella despite her announcing a romantic relationship with Fab while she was still pregnant with their son three years ago.
"She's that kind of girl. Ugh, I don't even want to go into that. I will say this, I have no hard feelings against Kimbella. We don't have no beef. At this point, this far along, she's doing her thing and I understand. It is what it is," Emily said in an interview. "It wasn't the time or the place. She had to go into those meetings and say that to those producers in order for them to get the information. She knew what she was doing. It's whatever. Personally, I would have taken that to the grave. I never would have thought that she would want to say that on national T.V., especially when your man works with him and that is his colleague. But, everybody's different. That was her decision and I guess she felt like she had to get it off of her chest or whatever, but it didn't play off well in the situation." (Global Grind)
Prior to their separation, Emily explained her difficulty in splitting Fab from his rap personality and actual self.
"He'll go on the radio and they'll ask, 'Are you single?' And he'll say 'As a dollar bill.' But it's funny because he'll text me, and be like, 'Don't listen to the radio.' I honestly feel and believe that [Fab the rapper] is a personality. ... He's so intelligent. He teaches me so much. When we're at home he's not a rapper. He's John. He's not this guy everybody else sees. I'd rather him just be John at home with the kids, sitting at the dinner table eating with them. I couldn't tell you what the pros, because to me, a pro would be just to have him at home." (Juicy Magazine)
