G-Unit's 50 Cent and Common are already set for a big 2012 and have unveiled their New Year's Resolutions as they prepare to bid a final farewell to the past 12 months.

While 50 Cent is striving to become a more conscious person, Common is looking to embrace greatness entering a new year.

"Ah man, so many. So many new things to work on myself. I just got to be conscious, more conscious of myself," 50 Cent explained. "And try and be a better judge of character with others." Common opened up about the philosophical goal he hopes to achieve in the coming year. "I haven't thought deeply on it, but I would say I just want to be great at everything I do," he said. "Greatness." (MTV)

Although he has yet to set an exact date or album title, 50 is dropping a new full length solo album in 2012.

"I want to come out at the top of the year, I want to be ready, but, you know, of course it's all on how everybody else puts together their actual marketing campaign and get it right," 50 said in an interview with DJ Whoo Kid. "I don't have a timeline anymore. I'm doing the Dr. Dre. I'm doing what Eminem does. I've been on a shot clock my entire career. 'I've gotta come out during this period. I've got to come out during this period.' Like, every other year. My albums are so successful that it would take me a year to get done touring off of them. I may not necessarily tour off of this album. I might release it and decide I'm going to make the next one instead of actually going out and touring and let everybody live with that and do something different. Or they'll see me at spot dates." Last week, Fif told critics he would dominate any competitors with his new music.

"Watch me destroy every one who put's them selves in compaction with me. This album cycle its gonna be to hard to keep up with me," he tweeted December 19th. (50 Cent's Twitter)

For Common, his new The Dreamer/The Believer album officially debuted on the sales chart this week.

Chicago rap veteran Common's The Dreamer/The Believer debuted on the chart this week at No. 17. After seven days of availability, the emcee-turned-actor's new album has pushed out 69,000 copies. (SOHH Sales Wrap)
