Late rap Tupac Shakur's ex-manager Leila Steinberg recently offered her take on the hype surrounding the deceased rapper's sex tape beign shopped around and said the buzz doesn't come as a surprise.
According to Steinberg, Pac was notorious for recording private acts.
"He taped a lot. He taped intimate moments that maybe were for himself that he never thought would [go] public," Steinberg said. "I'm sure that he documented and recorded way more than anyone will ever know. So that's why we'll continue to see things that pop up. ... His number one priority over sex tapes, over personal gratification, more than anything else, was to bring light and attention to really transitioning the state of economics in this country. And that he'd be a vessel and a vehicle to change things and to see balance on the planet." (Hip Hop News 24/7)
Some past interview footage landed online in October showing Naughty By Nature's Treach admitting to taping Pac having sex.
"We hung out and found a couple of chicks and everything and head back to the hotel. We had a double room, I had my room and he has his room. I had a little video camera, so me and my little chicky we taping sh*t, getting all wild and everything. Pac in the other room and the door is cracked. So I told my chick to shhh. So I go up in there and I start taping it from the door and he just banging it out on the bed, banging it out." (Road Krab So)
Prior to Pac's sex tape selling over the weekend to a private collector, recent reports said there was a buyer solely interested in purchasing the footage's background music.
A million-dollar offer just rolled in for the Tupac sex tape -- but not for the explicit video ... it's just for the SONG in the background. Sources tell TMZ, the CEO of NOHO (that anti-hangover drink) wants to acquire all rights to the unreleased Tupac track playing in the background of the tape -- while the rapper gets it on -- and he's willing to pay $1,000,000 for the privilege. It's unclear who actually owns the rights to the song -- but sources tell us, the CEO has made the open offer to buy them outright ... and he plans to use the secret track as the official theme song for the beverage company. It's crazy for two reasons -- 1) before this, the bidding war for the full sex tape had only reached $150,000 ... and 2) No one, except TMZ and the tape owner, has heard the unreleased track. (TMZ)
In light of the sex tape news, Pac's mother Afeni Shakur vowed to take legal action against the footage's retail release.
A spokesperson for Pac's estate has confirmed that the family is ready to take legal action against anyone who sells the 5-minute video of the rapper receiving oral sex. "We will sue anyone who tries to sell a Tupac tape," said the rep. Pac's mother Afeni Shakur purportedly called a team of lawyers into action, warning them that, "we will no allow someone to put it [the sex tape] out." The rep revealed that a private investigation is underway to identify the person in possession of the tape. The family currently suspects it maybe one of the many male companions in the video or the female who serviced the rapper. (BET)
