Miami rapper Trina is currently rumored to be heading to Rick Ross' ever-growing Maybach Music Group as new reports claim she is no longer associated with former label home Slip-N-Slide Records.

While neither confirming or denying the speculation, Trina said she is hard at work on an upcoming album.

"I'm currently in the studio working on my sixth album, which is amazing," Trina told MTV News. "It's my biggest priority right now. It's really major. I'm really excited. I'm really excited about who I'm working with. I'm really excited about just this whole new phase." Who she is working with is what led many to believe Trina will be joining Wale, Pill, Meek Mill and others at MMG. "I have a few surprises," Trina added. "This album, I want to make it more about me. I'm not going to have a whole album full of features. I'm working with some really great producers and Ross, of course. He's the structure and the leader for the album. I love Ross. He's like my brother, so it's really important for me that he understands where I'm at right now and to help make this album be as great as I want it to." (MTV)

Over the summer, Trina dished out how much she connected with the "Boss."

"I'm very excited. I love him," Trina said referring to her former Slip-N-Slide labelmate. "I was on tour and I was taking his mixtapes on tour, promoting, pushing him before people knew who he was...He's so supportive. Whenever I'm in the studio, he comes through...I always feel safe when he's around, especially when it comes to music. I feel he has that ear." (Skee TV)

Last year, Trina attended Ross' Teflon Don album release party in Miami.

Prior to Ross' departure in the late 2000's, both artists shared the same record label home, Slip-N-Slide.

Ted Lucas founded the label in 1994. Slip-n-Slide signed local rapper Trick Daddy Dollars in its early years. In 2008, Trick Daddy left Slip-n-Slide for his own label Dunk Ryders Records. Other rappers signed to Slip-n-Slide include Trina, Rick Ross, and Plies. Rick Ross signed to Slip-n-Slide in the early 2000s. During his early years under the label, he did guest performances on some releases; he released two albums under the label, Port of Miami in 2006 and Trilla in 2008. Ross left Slip-n-Slide in 2009.
