[In recognition of anticipated sophomore albums such as Drake's Take Care and Wale's Ambition dropping this month, SOHH is featuring entertainment personalities each day this week to name their most favorite debut LP follow-up and see if it survived the often-discussed "sophomore jinx". Today, ex-Little Brother members 9th Wonder and Big give props to OutKast's ATLiens.]
Big Pooh: That's actually my favorite OutKast album of all time. I still listen to it to this day [from start to finish]. Outkast first came out, people were just looking at them as that group from Atlanta. But when they dropped ATLiens, they solidified their spot.
Whether it was the West Coast or the East, ATLiens was the album that let the world know OutKast could compete with anybody. The way it was put together was perfect.9th Wonder: There's a difference between making a great bunch of songs and making a great album. Look at Southernplayalisticadillacmusik, then look at ATLiens. This is stuff you should know verbatim, no matter where you're from. Those albums are experiences.
