Pittsburgh rap newcomer Mac Miller has offered his take on the career of fellow Pennsylvania hip-hop artist Asher Roth and why he has fallen out of the spotlight as of late.

In Miller's eyes, Roth switched up his content, ultimately leaving fans dazed.

"Asher Roth came out with 'I Love College' and that's not really him as an artist," Mac told XXL. "He likes to rap his a** off. He likes to spit, and he's on some positive change the world type sh*t for the better, and that's not him. They thought that would be a hit song. And I think that was the thing, like, he came out in that lane that they pushed him in and he didn't wanna go there. He just wants to rap and sh*t." (XXL Mag)

In September, Roth revealed changing his long-awaited sophomore album from The Spaghetti Tree to Is This Too Orange.

"I got two projects coming out. Nobody knows this by the way. We have a joint called Paps & Jazz, which is just a mixtape," Ash revealed in an interview. "[The Cool Kids'] Chuck Inglish is on it, Blended Babies and a lot of my homies are just jamming, chill, stream-of-conscious stuff. And then we have the new album Is This Too Orange...I was waking up and it just came to me. It turns out that orange is the color of the creative chakra [each of the centers of spiritual power in the human body]." (Power 106 FM)

The rapper previously hinted at a few guest features the album would have.

"We haven't really got there yet. Not yet. Game got on 'Splish Splash' because he was just there in the studio. I think it's great to make the music and then figure out who would sound good on what. Robin Thicke did get on one though, but we'll see if it'll stick around. I just linked up with [Don] Cannon and I still want will.i.am to come holla at me because I want to talk some "Joints and Jams" type sh*t. He's super talented. It really just comes down if they want to do it or not at this point. I don't have big money. I mean wish I could say lets get in the studio for a million dollars but it's just not like that."
