News: Kris Humphries Refuses Kim Kardashian Divorce, Rep Says
Wednesday, Nov 30, 2011 5:13PM
NBA star Kris Humphries has responded back to reality star Kim Kardashian's divorce papers by looking for an annulment.
According to Humphries' rep, he is not interested in signing off on a divorce.
Divorce may not be in Kris Humphries' vocabulary. But annulment just might be. Humphries' rep confirms to E! News that the basketballer ex-hubby of Kim Kardashian plans to answer Kim's divorce filing not with a similar response or by refusing to sign her papers, but by filing a new batch of documents seeking instead a legal separation from his wife of just 72 days. It's a big one, actually. While a divorce would obviously dissolve the marriage, a legal separation would pave the way to totally delete it, and, if granted, could get their union annulled. Which would mean that, in the eyes of the state, Kris would still be a never-married bachelor, and Kim would have just one divorce under her designer belt. (E! Online)
Earlier this month, Kardashian inked an open letter to fans and admitted rushing into marriage.
"Everyone that knows me knows that I'm a hopeless romantic! I love with all of my heart and soul. I want a family and babies and a real life so badly that maybe I rushed in to something too soon. ... I never had the intention of hurting anybody and I accept full responsibility for my actions and decisions, and for taking everyone on this journey with me. It just didn't turn out to be the fairy tale I had so badly hoped for. There are also reports that I made millions of dollars off of the wedding. These reports are simply not true and it makes me so sad to have to even clarify this. I'm so grateful to everyone who took the time to come to my wedding and I'll be donating the money for all the gifts to the Dream Foundation. I'm sorry if I have hurt anyone, but my dad always told me to follow my heart and I believe now that I really am." (Kim Kardashian's Blog)
Details of the divorce became public knowledge this past Halloween.
Kim Kardashian filed for divorce Monday morning, after 72 days of not-so-wedded bliss to Kris Humphries ... TMZ has learned, and now we have the documents. We're told even though the marriage was short, she is not seeking an annulment. It's a garden variety divorce, in which Kim cites "irreconcilable differences." The date of separation is listed as today, Oct. 31, 2011. According to the docs, Kim wants Kris to foot his own lawyers' fees and she'll pay hers. And, she wants the court to reject any move by Kris to get spousal support. (TMZ)
Known for her public relationships with rap star Kanye West and current boyfriend Wiz Khalifa, model Amber Rose recently shed light on the impending celebrity divorce.
"We're all human beings, celebrity or not, we all make mistakes. We all go through trials and tribulations in our lives and you have to overcome it. Just pray. Whatever you believe in, just pray and really keep your life very positive, that's what I do. ... With Kim Kardashian, I think a lot of people think that [their marriage] was all fake, it was all phony. You never know what goes on in someone's life, you can only really assume. You never know what happened! People judge me all the time but they don't know my life, they don't know where I come from, what I go through, or what I've been through." (Global Grind)
