Young Money star Drake recently opened up about his ideal woman and what he strives for in a romantic relationship.
Drizzy said his prototype girlfriend would have to be driven by goals bigger than modeling and singing.
"Who's the ideal girl? She is very funny, very supportive, understands that right now I'm trying to build with somebody. The ideal girl is driven, working on something other than modeling or being a singer -- Or being seen! She's probably in New York to be honest with you. There are a lot of good women in New York. ... [What type of wildly successful girls am I dating to where they'd dis me? Oprah?] [laughs] I wish I dated Oprah [Winfrey]. No, they're mostly girls from Toronto that know the real me and don't give a f*ck about who "Drake" is or what he's accomplished. And then there are a lot of girls who get a kick out of doing that to me because of who I am. A lot of girls want to purposefully drive a point home." (GQ)
Earlier this month, movie actress Taraji P. Henson defended her decision not to date Drizzy.
"Drake was a friend. It was cute because I knew he liked me and I kept looking at him like 'If you were ten years older, boy whooo' but no," she told television host Wendy Williams when asked about the 25 year-old. "I couldn't because he is seven years older than my son." ("The Wendy Williams Show")
In October, Drake's ex-flame Catya opened up about their short-lived romance.
"I was in love, he was in love and by the way in the song he said he was in love, so don't try to switch it up now," she explained in an interview. "I never mentioned you, you mentioned me. It was good. I'm talking family dinners and we in Whole Foods pushing the cart around. It was a regular relationship. I was in love and he was in love but at the end of the day he started getting a little bit too loose. It's a problem [when] you had the kind of relationship we had. That was my dude; it wasn't somebody I was just kicking it with. If you were just kicking it, you can do what you wanna do but I was yours and you were mine. .... He is a phenomenal 'peach eater' and he is black and Jewish and the black side is Mandingo." (Hot 107.9)
Last year, the Canadian rapper admitted his struggle with understanding love.
"I feel like I've said 'I love you' ... but I don't know if I understand it yet," Drake says. "I write about it and I try and make sense of it, but I'm not really sure ... I thought I would by now, but maybe it's not meant for me to understand yet." (PEOPLE)
