Let's rap for a minute: Sometimes it seems like Roc Nation artist Jay Electronica has been riding the wave of "Exhibit C" since President Obama was elected. Dude gave us a strong display of lyricism on that joint, but damn -- what's the hold up with new music?

Most MC's in the game today keep the Web stock-full of new music, as to not lose their buzz while they await the release of their album. Fellow Roc Nation spitter J. Cole built a cult following by consistently releasing mixtapes and fire tracks as he sat on the sidelines, waiting for the day the world would hear Cole World. With Jay Elec, however, the story is a little different.
Yesterday, J.E. gave us a new track featuring Mobb Deep, but there's no telling when we'll be blessed with another record from homie. Maybe next month, maybe next year ... you never know. Is this some sort of weird marketing scheme in which Elec keeps his fans so hungry for material that they eat up whatever he throws their way? Possibly. Is he constantly trying to outdo the last verse he birthed -- to the point that he is hesitant to release anything that is not up to par with "Exhibit C"? Maybe. It's really anyone's guess ...
Point is, the streets are checkin' for more music from Jay, SOHH Whatcha Think: Why does it take so long for Jay Electronica to release new music, and how do you like his latest track?
