While Waka Flocka Flame's rap retirement remains as pending, the Atlanta hip-hop star is currently preparing the release of two mixtapes this week.

Both projects will drop tomorrow (October 21) and feature original tracks.

This week alone, he's dropping two mixtapes. The first is a joint effort with French Montana called Lock Out, inspired by the current, unfortunate, NBA lockout, which comes out on October 21. Also on that date will be a Waka solo tape called LeBron Flocka James 3. "All that's original [songs]," he says LBF 3. "I'm gonna introduce my label on this one; Brick Squad Monopoly. [My producer] Southside is on the beat. Time to go hard. It's our season." (XXL Mag)

In August, Flocka killed the notion that he would remain in the industry as a music executive.

"Nah, I am gonna retire," Waka promised in an interview. "I'm gonna retire from the industry -- I'm not gonna kick it in the industry no more. I'm gonna do what I wanna do, how I started like from the beginning. I'm gonna do exactly what I wanna do. I don't expect to win awards, I don't expect to go to big venues. I'm gonna really help the youth -- this is what I started doin' it for, so I'm gonna finish doin' it -- Yeah, I'm gonna retire -- from the industry." (RapFix)

Waka's Ferrari Boyz rapping partner Gucci Mane recently gave SOHH his reaction to Flocka's retirement talk.

"Me just being honest, I'm one of Waka's biggest fans," Gucci added when asked if he believes Waka will really retire by 2012. "I'm a huge fan of his music, you know what I'm saying? Me just being a fan and seeing how he is when he goes into the studio, I would hate for him to stop rapping because I like what he's doing. Every song he's every made, I've liked. He goes hard. So I would hate for him to leave the game because I think he's bringing a whole new thing to the rap game. He's got his own style." (SOHH)

A few weeks prior, Three 6 Mafia's DJ Paul said he did not believe Waka would retire.

"I like Waka Flocka. Waka Flocka's one of my favorites," Paul told Rap-Up TV. When asked what he thought of Waka's possible retirement, he responded, "I remember when I was his age. You're having too much fun. He won't do it." (Rap-Up)
