A week after T.I. announced a possible joint effort alongside B.o.B. titled The Man and The Martian, Grand Hustle's protege has confirmed his boss' album plans.
Although it is not yet fully a go, B.o.B. said album discussions have begun taking shape.
"The Man and The Martian is something we're talking about, an idea that we're playing with. We just kinda wanna let it happen and record as we see fit," B.o.B. said in an interview. "Mars and Earth aren't too far apart. [Laughs] ... feel like when me and [T.I.] get in the studio, we can organically make music and Tip actually co-produced one of the songs on my [The Adventures of Bobby Ray] album, 'Fifth Dimension.' A lot of people don't even know that, so I have a lot of confidence that we'll show people just how close Earth and Mars are." (Hip Hop DX)
Last week, T.I. said Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne joint LP slightly inspired the project's possibility.
"We been goin' in. We're actually flirting with the idea of doin' an album together called The Man and the Martian," T.I. explained. "We just been compiling material, he and I together, and it's coming out real good...Of course [Jay and Ye] did inspire me, but I always have wanted to do a collaborative album. Even back when Jay did that with R. Kelly -- I spoke to Usher about doing one of those before; the stars and the moon hadn't aligned appropriately." ("Sway in the Morning")
Last year, B.o.B. talked about getting career advice from T.I.
"He told me, 'Alright B.o.B, you are on roller coaster now. From this point on everything is going to speed up and you will never know how you got here,'" B.o.B. said in an interview. "He told me about finding my pace because I'm just getting my feet wet. It's crazy. Me being on Grand Hustle, being affiliated with T.I., being an underground alternative artist with a pop hit the next day. It's f*cking crazy. The Adventures of Bobby Ray is just a soundtrack to what I'm doing. I'm just enjoying the ride... The ups and downs is what make the rollercoaster ride fun. But everything is weird [Laughs]." (VIBE)
A few days ago, Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy detailed his interest in working alongside Tip for a joint LP.
Although both Atlanta rappers have had hectic schedules this fall, Jeezy said that he and T.I. may someday release a joint album, a la "Watch The Throne." "Me and Tip actually were together and we [talked] about it," he said. "We've just hit the ground running and been doing so many records that I don't think it's impossible. And we've known each other [long] enough to put something like that together, and I definitely think that the city would need it, because it would be a good look. And it would be an amazing album release party, by the way." (Billboard)
