[With the new release of Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One less than 24 hours away, Insomniac Games studio designer Chad Dezern gives you his Top 5 reasons to add this adventure to your game stash.]

1. Fashion Call

Players collect "hero bolts" to unlock over 24 unique hero costumes. To me, none are more disturbing than the return of Qwark's Nurse Shannon outfit. On a less disturbing note, 4 of the costume designs--Skeleton Ratchet, Fishbowl Clank, Knight Qwark, and Lavalamp Nefarious--were submitted by talented fans for the PlayStation blog skin design contest. Making those costumes is actually one of the best parts of the development for us because usually when we get to that point, we just need to come up with a lot of ideas and have them implemented. So we sat down and brainstorm and we generated more ideas than we could possibly make. We filled up our notebooks and picked our favorites. As we started [executing], we also made some based on our fans' requests. At the end, we ended up with a whole bunch of different options.

2. The Power of Babble

Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One features over 4,000 unique lines of character dialogue translated into 17 languages. That's over 68,000 different ways to hear 4 characters drive each other crazy on a backwater planet. We want to get our game into as many players' hands as possible and over the years, we've added [different languages] and I think we've gotten better at the process of translating the game, so that makes it a little easier to add more [languages]. And this was really a collaboration between us and our publisher over at SCEA, finding out the best markets to translate the language in to.

3. Plumber Back

Once again, the mysterious dimension-hopping Plumber makes an appearance to offer a bit of advice at a pivotal moment. This time, though, the secret is found in what the Plumber doesn't say. How's that for cryptic? The Plumber actually began his life in the very first Ratchet & Clank game for the Playstation 2 and we just love this idea of [featuring] a character who just drops in at random. It's something that's really important, although you're never quite sure why it's important at the time. He was a plumber initially just because we had him literally working on pipes [and moving through them] just to get around. And as this character has evolved, he's become a cosmic figure. You're always wondering who he is and how he knows so much. That's something we've never revealed but he does come back as a recurring character in just about every Ratchet & Clank title.

4. It's Gettin' Hot In Here

An Insomniac programmer and Earl Grey aficionado prototyped almost every object in the game in a test level called "Hot Tea". By the end of production, the level was a chaotic amusement park of gameplay ideas. Either that, or it was a glimpse inside the mind of a madman. The "Hot Tea" title seems like it might relate to something else in the world of gaming but the programmer requested we call him that because he just loves tea. He literally has boxes and boxes of tea at his desk and he's always drinking a cup while he's working.

5. Critter Control

Planet Magnus is crawling with alien critters. There are over 50 unique species to collect in All 4 One. The critters unlock secret labs, and the labs hold the key to possessing a weapon so powerful, I can't even [speak] its name.

You Decide. Will you purchase Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One?
