[From Tity 2 Chainz: With Tity Boi a.k.a. 2 Chainz catching our attention after his appearance in the BET Hip-Hop Awards '11 cypher, this week SOHH is featuring entertainment personalities giving underrated props to the Atlanta rapper. After E.D.I. Mean gave The Outlawz the title last week, Drumma Boy now crowns "Tity Boi" SOHH Underrated.]
SOHH Underrated? That's easy. I got two words for you. [The artist formerly known as] Tity Boi. He's one of the most slept-on artists in the South, man. Hands down.
Tity Boi's on Ludacris' label, Disturbing Tha Peace. That's my guy and we get down. We have crazy records that we've done together. I produced the "Boo" record that Tity has with Yo Gotti. And then I produced the record, "I Spend It" that goes, "I'm riding around and I'm getting it. I'm riding around and I'm getting it."
We got two records that's on [the] Billboard [music chart] right now. It's just a pleasure to be able to hold him down and give him those Billboard records that he's been waiting on. I think he's one of the next guys coming out of the South.
I'm most impressed by his punchlines and [that fact] that he doesn't even write. He goes into the booth for 20 minutes and then he hears the beat. In the booth, he starts putting the words together and when you start listening to the things he's saying and the punchlines he's coming up with, it's just classic.
He uses a whole bunch of leads and stacks on his tracks and he's that dude. You know what I'm saying? I have to give it to Tity Boy.
*EDITOR'S NOTE: Tity Boi has since changed his rap alias to 2 Chainz.*
Drumma Boy, born and raised in Memphis, TN, is one of the South's most innovative producers, pumping out a variety of sounds for the industry's upcoming artists. The beatmaker turned producer travels back and forth between Atlanta and Memphis, producing, promoting and networking alongside Drum Squad Promotions.
