As incarcerated rapper Ja Rule continues serving a four year jail sentence, Terror Squad leader Fat Joe reflects on the fellow New York hip-hop artist current stint.

According to Joey Crack, he plans on maintaining a steady relationship with Rule throughout his bid.

"God bless him, man. He's my brother and I wish him the best. I just got his address from his manager and I've been writing him. I was with him just before he went away. He's a beautiful dude. He got a bad rap for everything. He's a great guy and making great music." (Rap-Up)

Already serving two years for a 2007 gun conviction, Rule was issued two additional charges for tax evasion last July.

Rapper Jeffrey Atkins, also known as Ja Rule, was sentenced Monday to 28 months in prison for failing to file tax returns with the IRS after admitting that he did not file his taxes for five years, the Justice Department said in a news release Monday. The 35-year-old performer from Saddle River, New Jersey, had pleaded guilty to three of five counts before U.S. Magistrate Judge Patty Shwartz, who imposed the sentence in Newark federal court. Rule's wife, Aisha, recently talked about their finances and spoke on her husband's ability to support them while serving a two year jail sentence.

Ja's wife Aisha tells TMZ, "He did leave us well off. All of the rumors about Ja being broke are far from true." Aisha adds, "Ja made sure ... that me and my kids wouldn't need anything as far as income goes. Heplanned well before he went in." "We won't be bad ... even for a little bit -- that was Ja's first priority as a man who makes sure familycomes first." (TMZ)

Prior to beginning the sentence, Rule expressed his sorrow for the conviction taking him away from his family.

"I'm disappointed," Rule said in an interview. "I'm mad at myself. My daughter, she's 15 right now. These are her last couple of years. She's about to graduate from high school, and she's going to college. She needs her father. My boys really need me right now too, as well as my wife. They need Daddy, and Daddy f*ced up...This is something that's bad, but there's gotta be some good that comes out of it. Even if there are other kids that look at me and say, 'Let me put my burner down.' Even if it's that, then there is something learned from my mistakes." (MTV)
