Pulse Report: Webbie Says Rocsi Wants His Magic Stick, 50 Cent Can't Swallow Weezy's Numbers, Lil Wayne Reigns Supreme
Friday, Oct 28, 2011 12:45PM
In this week's Pulse Report, doggies, we find ourselves on the ground laughing out loud over Webbie's Rocsi/Terrence J disses, try to figure out why even though 50 Cent might have a point about Tha Carter IV sales...who CARES?, give Lil Wayne the floor and oh SOHH much more!
[Editor's Note: The views of this column do not necessarily reflect those of SOHH.com]
Doggies, if there is even one of y'all that claim you did not follow the Webbie/Terrence J beef from last week, y'all are bugging. LOL. What I thought would have ended with Terrence J's banning getting put on blast in "STFU" Honors must have caught the attention of Webbie b/c the very next day he went IN on that doggy! LOL!!!!! I'm not gonna go into full detail b/c that's taking up too much of my time and y'all doggies' time. So here's a quick summary. Webbie appeared on "106 & Park" a couple weeks ago as a special judge. Well, by the end of the show Terrence had doggies scratching their domes when he banned "Lil" Webbie from the show. Well, nothing else popped off for about a week.....but THEN...there was this!
"Not holding nmo beef with @TerrenceJ he a wanna be a** n*gga," he tweeted over the weekend. "Ima just simply beat him up when I catch him."
"RT @Balla_T: Webbie On Terrence J!! Real Savage Sh*t @OfficialWebbie http://www.worldstarhiphop.com/videos/video.php?v=wshh47H3UxZsjRI27m1F via @worldstar (Webbie's Twitter)
^ LOL!!!!!! Nah if y'all doggies are like me, y'all went to this video and found out that Webbie was serious. But what had my stomach aching was the way he took forever to remember doggy's name. Even worse was the way he didn't even address Rocsi by name. LOL!!!!! That's cold blooded. Come on, I mean...hold up, y'all gotta peep this.
"How can you tell me I'm not, I 'am' BET," Webbie said in a video. "You looking at BET right now. So Terrence, I'm sorry your b*tch [co-host Rocsi] wanted me to put that d*ck on her. Get your h*e, man. Get your f*cking h*e man. Get your h*e man." (Original Hollywood Films)
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not gonna lie, that had me rolling. I think the fact that SOHH put in brackets, "[co-host Rocsi]" may have been the best part though. LOL. But if y'all watch the clip all the way through, he destroys Terrence J. Talking about him getting salty and jealous b/c Rocci was all over him? LOL!!!!!!!!!!! THAT'S FUNNY. And based on this below, he might have a valid point:
^ LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got Webbie winning right now. Even when he tried to clarify the remarks he made, it just made things even worse.
"It ain't nothing against me and BET. BET, I love BET, I've been watching BET all my life. I am BET, BET is black entertainment, you know what I'm saying?" Webbie explained in an interview. "That was some personal stuff, you know with Rocsi and Terrence you know, that's his old lady I guess. Go look at the computer, look at the Vibe Magazine and that's what happened...I didn't never know her personally, I just know how we live and where we live and the picture just explains it all. I just say Terrence, get yo h*e man! ... This ain't got nothing to do with the millions of kids that I say stay in school. I make sure to say stay in school." (WGCI)
^ LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Before we leave this topic, doggies, make sure to show some love to SOHH's J. Bachelor who put me up on this craziness. He does the SOHH Whatcha Think daily column and did a pretty funny write-up of this situation.
2. I Got 99 Problems
Doggies, what is up with 5-0 Cent? I won't lie to y'all, I put him on blast later on in this Pulse Report but he needed his own post right here. I just don't get how a doggy can say he doesn't have a problem with Lil Wayne and yet says something that shows the exact opposite. You don't like the fact that he skateboards and you don't know gangsters who skateboard from New Orleans? Oh, but you don't have a problem with him. Yeah, you dissed Wayne on those Street King records but oh yeah, you don't have a real problem with him. Or should I say "no issues" with him? SMH. I was even all right with those bogus remarks but then came 5-0 rubbing his nose on Lil Wayne's album sales. Like, really doggy? YOU? Of all doggies? Now let's be real. It's Global Grind's partial fault b/c they knew 5-0 would say something salty. Y'all decide.
When we mentioned Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV almost selling a million albums in the first week, 50 let us know immediately that he wasn't buying the numbers. "To be honest with you, the Lil Wayne sales are a little suspect to me. Because it was trending 600,000 pieces that week. And they didn't do a million copies, it was like 900,000." In regards to Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III, which sold a million copies in the first week back in 2008, 50 gives Lil Wayne his props: "Tha Carter III was definitely hot. He did that." 50 Cent goes on to say: "Tha Carter III commanded that energy, but the last one that just came out, those numbers are funny." (Global Grind)
^ SMH. Doggies, do y'all see what I'm saying? Y'all keep getting mad at me b/c I call it like I see it. FYI, it wasn't trending 600,000 pieces. It was TRENDING over 850,000 PIECES. Ya dig? And the fact that he did a little bit more (not a milli though) by selling about 964,000 copies? Come on, really doggy? This is no different than 50 saying Jay-Z/Def Jam bought Kanye West's albums in 2007. Why you so mad, 5-0? Maybe he should put that anger in a new direction, like that Street King promo. SMH.
3. Doggy of the Week: Lil Wayne
I'm not sure about y'all doggies, but before Rick Ross, I find that there is one doggy that stands above all. And yeah, sorry, but Jay-Z ain't the one. It's Lil Wayne. Now I know y'all don't need a "Doggy of the Week" post to let y'all know that he's pretty important. If Wayne talks, doggies listen. Doggy went to jail and he still made headlines, I'm talking about CNN, Fox News and other spots, just because he's such a huge doggy. This week proves to be no different in attention generating. Starting with the fact that 5-0 Cent finally admitted Weezy is stuck in his head and ending with the sexy, yummy looking Anglea Yee putting Wayne in her Top 5 (she's a bad chick, doggies!), it's all the things in-between that are the most impressive. Wayne admitting that he wants to be an executive, Nicki Minaj putting it out there that she is a secret diamond in the rough and of course, a crazy doggy like Tyler, the Creator giving him props. Y'all give it up for Weezy, doggggggggggggg-y!
"Yeah, yeah, but you know what's interesting, I was just in Las Vegas, I was performing with this thing with Mountain Dew -- I did write the Lil Wayne line on the actual song but you know, when I got an issue, it's clarity in it," 50 told Ang. "I never, I don't really do subliminals. [Did I say his name on the song?] No, I didn't. I'm making references to his actions because I see, within hip-hop culture, I'm watching the artists attempting to be like the audience in order to gain the audience instead of just letting them come to us. That's even why the urban apparrel business is going away. They dress like the skateboarders. If you're wearing skinny jeans, that's 'their' culture. That is like clothes the skateboarders would wear. You see what I'm saying? [Maybe he likes to skateboard?] Yeah, I just don't know gangsters from New Orleans that skateboard. It's gonna get interesting. If you look at it, like, I ran into [rapper] Machine Gun Kelly in Las Vegas while I was out there and -- he's really like a part of that culture. I don't have a problem with Weezy." ("The Angie Martinez Show")
^ Say what y'all want but one thing is clear. 5-0 is obsessed with Lil Wayne. Come on, saying that he has an issue with Wayne b/c he likes to skateboard? LOL!!!! This almost made it into "STFU" Honors, but I felt this was more of a compliment rather than a diss. The nerve of 5-0 to say all of this and then at the end say, "I don't have a problem with Weezy." LOL. Wayne wins any way you see it! LOL!!!!
"Basically, I have been doing this for eighteen years. That's reason number one. I have accomplished all that I have set out to accomplish and more. Also, I have a label, and I've only put out two artists [Drake and Nicki Minaj]. I have a lot more work to do, and it'd be selfish to not focus on being the boss and focus on their projects," Wayne explained when asked about retiring at 35. "But the main reason is my kids, my children. Now, if I thought I'd be selfish to my artists, imagine what I think I would be doing to my kids. I have enough money that they don't have to ever do anything--which, they will do everything, 'cause they ain't getting sh*t. [cackles wildly] Six [more] years, I can do this Lil Waynething, and my boys will be about 7 and 8 years old. And man, it's all about them then. You know, whatever they're doing. Sports. Whatever they're into. That's where I am. I'm at every game. I'm the dad with the hat on. The jersey. That's me." (GQ Magazine)
^ That's real doggies. Something I always realized about Dipset and Wu-Tang is even though they were hot, they always had doggies you wondered about. It's one thing for a B.S. excuse like, "Coming soon...." but when you get a response like the one Wayne gave where he admits only two artists have dropped albums, that's real. Now if he lives up to really dropping albums from Lil Twist, Mack Maine, Lil Chuckee, Jae Millz (SMH...), Tyga and a few others, well, that's something else. LOL.
"You know what's interesting about that song," Minaj said while in character as her alter ego, the Female Weezy, "Nicki originally did that song for Wayne two and a half years ago." The slow-rolling track, which is the first single off of Ross' upcoming God Forgives, I Don't, finds Minaj on the hook toasting the larger-than-life Rozay. "I'll do anything you say, anything, 'cause you the boss," Nicki sings softly. Wayne never ended up using the track, but it seemed all too perfect for Ricky. "It was just lingering, and then she gave it to Rick Ross," Lady Wayne said. "I think it's hot." (RapFix)
^ Yeah, y'all think it's wack for him to have Nicki ghost writing but I think that's hot. But Lady Wayne? LOL!!! Not so much.......
"Wayne's cool. I ran into him at my hangout back home, and he's just cool," Tyler told MTV News. Tyler also has dreams of working with Wayne, but he hasn't yet built up the courage to tap his manager Christian Clancy to help put the plan in motion. "I actually have this beat that I want him on, but I was too scared to get it to Clancy to get it to them, but Wayne's cool." When they met, the two rappers didn't get to speak long, and it was Weezywho dominated the conversation. "I wanted to kinda fan out and sh--," Tyler admitted, "but he gave me a speech about how happy he was that I won a VMA and that seeing my mom go crazy kinda made him feel like he won it too, because that sh-- was real as f---." (MTV)
Is it just me or do y'all think Odd Future is a group of kids you don't want a beef with? Something about them just has "crazy" written in big neon colors with blood dripping around it. LOL. Tyler and Wayne rolling together. That's a doggy move if I ever saw one before.
"I have to name Lil Wayne because he puts out more music than anybody. There may be songs of his that I can't stand but then there may also be songs of his that I absolutely love. So I guess the good outweighs the bad." (SOHH Top 5 Dead Or Alive)
Angela Yee, my name is Bulldog Butters and I just want to let you know you are quite possibly the most sexy radio host I've ever heard and watched before. Uh, oh yeah, good pick with Lil Wayne. XOXO, Angela. Maybe we could get you in Mrs. Butterworth some day...speaking of which.........
4. Mrs. Butterworth: Diamond Tha Showstopper
Before we even get into this week's special sultry delight, doggies, let me ask y'all a rhetorical question. What do women fiend for? Give up? Diamonds. Soap opera shows. LOL. OK, so maybe I'm just trying to come up with a snazzy excuse for going with the one and only Diamond Tha Showstopper. Is she different than any other Mrs. Butterworth that's been featured in here before? But of course. Or should I say, but"t" of course? LOL. It's no secret doggies. I'm a fan of women that got a big butt and a smile and Diamond fits the billing. She's got a cute face, slim waist and a behind that would even make that Nick Jr. face cry. LOL. Enough of the fluffy lead-up, let's take a peep at this week's Mrs. Butterworth...Diamond Tha Showstopper.
And if that wasn't enough, get a little bit more of a closer look at what Diamond is all about.
^ I can't lie, doggies, Diamond looks like a ride or die Mrs. Butterworth.
5. "STFU" Honors
Doggies, I wish I could have put a scary element behind this "STFU" Honors feature this week. I mean, we are just 72 hours away from Halloween, right? But y'all know sometimes the stuff that's said in here can be as scary as the worst Halloween doggy you can think up. LOL. This week has nothing but the best of the worst quotes out. We start with Remy Ma saying she has plans to make it like J. Lo as a wedding planner? LOL!!!!!! Oh, AFTER dropping two albums. Doggies, the prison time is getting to her head! Then we take a look at a doggy named Six Reasons who must really be feeling himself. PAUSE. Club songs are for the clubs! Duh! SMH. But if that wasn't bad enough, you have Waka Flocka Flame getting career advice from...Diddy, Russell Simmons, Steve Stoute? NO. Suge Knight? LOL!!!!!!! Out of all the doggies, Suge. LOL!!!! Then we wrap it up with Lil Wayne somehow thinking he sold a million albums in a week, oh yeah, in 2011?!!!!! Nahhh, doggy. Don't get those numbers mixed up. And finally it's Nas who shows signs of being bipolar even back in the day by saying he was gonna quit rap after Illmatic/It Was Written. SMH. Doggies, if y'all didn't know already, it's that time of the Pulse Report....welcome to "SHUT THE F*CK UP" Honors!
"Pap always laughs when I tell him, but I want to do two more albums and then become a wedding planner," Remy revealed in an interview. "That's something how people are like, 'I want to open a restaurant.' Or, 'Oh, I want to start a clothing line.' I want a wedding-planning business, and make special days come together. And charge them a lot of money to do it. When I get out of here, oh, nobody gonna be able to stop me! I'm unstoppable!"
"I'm tired of seeing club songs that's in the clubs. I didn't want to see this in the club. We began to throw ideas around. This was some of the best ideas we had and we put them all together. I'm really big on executing. You can have a thousand good ideas but if you can't execute them, what good are they?"
"It's valid. It ain't no rumors. It's what it is," Waka said about working with the Death Row Records co-founder. "You gotta really start pulling in people in the game who know the game. Suge is not the only one. I'mma start snatching in the real ones. Suge helped me get a good movie deal. Now I need to get on the TV screen. Ain't nothing wrong with f*ckin' with some Gs. I f*ck with Master P too. They're just good for information homie. He's helping me oversee the company. I'm not trying to be 'Pac, I'm not trying to be Death Row. I'm Brick Squad Monopoly. My mother is still my manager. I ain't changing sh*t. It is what it is. But its like having [Michael] Jordan and Kobe [Bryant]. Why not play with both?"
"Yeah. H*ll yeah, I'm surprised," Wayne said when asked about his first-week sales expecations. "No. I was very surprised. I did not think I was gonna do that. I mean, I already did that--I sold a million copies the first week [of Tha Carter III]. I never imagined it would happen again. I think we'd be some greedy motherf*ckers to expect it to happen again, and I'm still shocked that it did."
"It's crazy, because when [my daughter] was young, she was a baby, I thought, Aw, man, I'm gonna quit this rap sh*t before she becomes old enough to even know what I'm doing, what I did for a living. I never thought that I'd be still doing it while she's a teen, growing up. And I'm still in the game. It kind of f*cks me up," Nas explained. "It's weird as f*ck sometimes. But then, other times, it's, like, perfect. It's, like, I'm glad it worked out this way. 'Cause then I would have to be telling her, "No, I really was a somebody in rap. Like, you got to believe me!"
***Aight doggies, my weekend just got freed up since the Jets have a bye and are getting ready for those Buffalo Bills. Not sure if any of y'all are headed out here but try not to. The weather doggy is predicting snow on Saturday! LOL! In October??? LOL!!!! Now ain't that something, huh? I hope y'all doggies have some fun especially since we gotta wait one more week before the new Harold & Kumar flick drops. LOL. I'll catch y'all on Tuesday! --BB***
