As their Hell: The Sequel EP recently approached gold status, Detroit MC Royce Da 5'9 recently spoke with SOHH and explained why he feels his Bad Meets Evil counterpart Eminem is such a vicious battle rapper.
Agreeing with remarks made by rapper Game, labeling Shady as as an MC few want to confront in a lyrical battle, Royce revealed that the secret to Em's attack lies in his lack of remorse for other rappers.
Eminem has no boundaries, and I feel the same way about Game. [They're both] rappers that don't give a f*ck what they say ... nothing is off limits with them.(SOHH)
Royce went on to point out that, when it came to battle-rapping, Shady was a master at making every line count.
Em came from the battle scene: So as long as he has a little information on you, 9 times outta ten he's gonna hand you your a**. I think Em is just nasty because he kills you with syllables. He gets to the point very fast and without wasting bars. Know what I mean? I mean, he'll be eight bars in and already done talked about ya brother, ya momma, what you got on ... it's not alotta wasted bars with Em.(SOHH)
In a recent interview, rapper Game said that when it comes to diss records, he knows what battles are better left alone.
"If you notice out of everybody I take a shot at, that's the only person that's untouched. He's in a bubble and you don't even say nothing to Eminem. To anybody that ever does, God bless you," Game said. 'He'll end your career."(RapFix)
Last year, Eminem revealed even more details behind his lyrical dominance.
"I would have written lines, I would have punchlines, that I would be prepared to say at anytime to kinda figure out on the spot what punchlines I would pick and choose for this person that was in my face but also be able to mix in freestyle with it. That would be the basic formula that I would follow, have my punchlines ready to go but also be able to say something spontaneous too."(Real Talk NY)
