Roc Nation's J. Cole has come forward to clear the air on his name ending up in numerous rumor reports and how his latest tabloid feature, a sex tape featuring R&B singer Rihanna, is nothing more than gossip.
Cole said he has learned to ignore his name appearing in the rumor mills.
"I just let 'em talk. They also say I've got a sex tape [with Rihanna] and they say I got dropped from Roc Nation," Cole said in an interview. "It's been a h*ll of a two weeks. They put a picture of one of my fans on the Internet and said it was my girlfriend -- I figured out, now that I'm on the other side [of the rumor mill], it's just so random. It doesn't start from no where, it's just like tabloids back in the day. People get paid, they making their money off of making up kind of outlandish stories. 'Jay-Z said he gon' beat J. Cole up when he sees him, said he better watch out.' And it's always a very reliable source -- That's a genius rumor [the sex tape with Rihanna], 'cause that's still sticking and it's two weeks later almost. It's an annoying compliment. The fact that they're even talking and I don't have no album out and I'm making the little gossip sites [is cool], but I stay getting texts from people saying, 'Oh man, you good? You all right? I heard you got dropped. Keep your head up, fam.'" (Sucker Free)
In late August, Rihanna downplayed the sextape's existence.
"We don't believe U, U need more people...AND ofcourse an actual sextape! #slownewsday," she tweeted August 24th.
"#RihannaNavyROCKZ RT @RiRi4Life_: @rihanna #Cheers is #4 on iTunes!! No promo No video! #Cheers2Rihanna" (Rihanna's Twitter)
While not as direct, Cole also hopped on Twitter to kill the hype.
"Gossip Gossip, n*gga just stop it," he tweeted August 25th. (J. Cole's Twitter)
Reports of the explicit footage's existence landed online a few weeks ago.
In an exclusive statement the porn magazine claims they are have an intimate video which allegedly features the "S&M" singer and rapper J-Cole. "Hustler are in possession of the Rihanna and J-Cole tape," said a rep for the adult company. "We have seen it and we do not know what we are going to do with it yet." While they refused to disclose any further details of the tape, the fact that it exists is sure to have Rihanna quaking in her stilettos. (RadarOnline)
