Grammy-winning rapper Eminem and Royce Da 5'9 have officially reached gold status for their new joint album, Hell: The Sequel, moving over 500,000 copies.

Royce da 5'9 returned to Detroit on Thursday for a "Success is Certain" listening party, but was treated to a surprise while there. Onstage at the Majestic Theatre, Eminem's manager Paul Rosenberg presented Royce with a gold plaque for sales of 500,000 or more of "Hell: The Sequel." For Royce, it's his first certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. (M Live)
To date, the duo's joint effort has sold just over 480,000 copies as of Wednesday (August 31).
Grammy-winning rapper Eminem and Royce Da 5'9's Hell: The Sequel dropped two slots to No. 15 with 18,000. With 11 weeks knocked out, their new joint effort has moved 481,000 records. (SOHH Sales Wrap)
After they topped the Top 200 sales chart last June, Royce gave his reaction to standing atop his competition.
"You know I ain't never sold no records," Royce said to MTV News, laughing. "I knew it had the potential. I just really was more focused on the whole 'critically acclaimed' thing, and I think we achieved that. I'm only hearing good things about how people feel about the album." (MTV)
The project features collaborations from Slaughterhouse and pop star Bruno Mars.
