After G-Unit's 50 Cent recently named Kelly Rowland as one of the music industry's most slept-on artists, the singer's "Boo Thang" collaborator Verse Simmonds hit up SOHH to give us his take on the former Destiny's Child member.

Although he has not had an opportunity to spend ample time around Rowland, Simmonds believes she is starting to receive the recognition she deserves.

"Kelly's a real cool girl, I met her one time," Verse Simmonds told SOHH. "I wasn't in the studio when she recorded her version to my song 'Boo Thang'. But I met her shortly before that and what ended up happening was she heard the 'Boo Thang' record and really, really loved it. She wanted to get on it -- I definitely think she's slept on and a lot of us should be paying more attention to her. Her 'Motivation' record has opened up a lot of eyes too but I think there's no limit to how far she can go." (SOHH)

Last month, 50 Cent labeled Rowland one of music's most underrated artists.

"I'm so happy Kelly got that hit record," 50 responded. "She's due; she's so due. She's the most underrated female soloist in the game, and it's finally time for he...There wasn't no dance moves Beyonce was doin' [in Destiny's Child] that Kelly wasn't doin'. It's just the right song. You got the song, now you can forget about it. It's going. They all did the same moves." (MTV)

Not only co-signed by Simmonds and 50, Rowland recently became the new face of rap mogul Diddy's fragrance, Empress.

R&B songbird Kelly Rowland has been tapped to be the spokesmodel for Diddy's new women's fragrance line Empress. The 'Motivation' singer revealed she will be the face of the rap mogul's perfume, which is the female version of his successful men's cologne I Am King. "Yeah, I'm the new ambassador for 'Empress'; I just love what 'Empress' represents," she says. "It's just women that are beautiful and powerful in their own right." (Pop Crush)

Rowland's latest solo album is currently on the sales chart.

R&B singer Kelly Rowland's Here I Am dropping ten slots to No. 13 with 25,300. Headed into her third week on store shelves, the former Destiny's Child member's new LP stands at 102,400 sold pieces. (SOHH Sales Wrap)
