SOHH Whatcha Think: What's Really Good W/Lupe Qutting Twitter: Fact or Marketing Fiasco? [Click Here & Speak]

I was in the shoe store trying on some sandals (summer heat is a beast) when I came across the following tweet.
"I'm quitting Twitter. It was fun while it lasted," he tweeted July 13 (Lupe Fiasco's Twitter)
That's right cool kids. Yesterday, the always outspoken Lupe Fiasco "gave up" Twitter and kick-pushed his account over to Nikki.

No, not that Nicki.
Nikki Jean. You know her. Shorty sung the hook on Hip Hop Saved My Life a few years back. Remember now? Ok cool. Mr. Fiasco blessed her with direct access to his 722K+ followers on Twitter. That's a hell of alotta people that are going to miss reading Tweets from one of rap's most provocative artists. But before you go getting all teary-eyed and whatnot, I have reason to suspect this is all just a clever marketing scheme. Hear me out ...
First off, Lupe loves to talk (and Tweet). Can't say I see the guy being away from Twitter for more than two weeks before the itch kicks in. Then come the withdrawals. These social networks are like drugs, man -- and Twitter is Blue Magic. Before you know it, he'll be sweating at a keyboard in the middle of the night: Scratching his neck, eyes twitching and swatting imaginary flies as he tries to remember his login credentials.
Second, let's look at the timeline: Nikki dropped an album Tuesday. The next day, Lupe randomly throws his hands up and announces, "I quit Twitter," then proceeds to give her his account, with which she immediately begins using to promote her album. Just sayin'.
Mr. Fiasco is as unpredictable as he is talented. So maybe he really is fed up. Maybe he decided Twitter was a waste of time and he'd rather focus on his next album. Maybe Anthony Weiner sent over an inappropriate Twitpic then invited him out for food & liquor. Just sayin'.
... Or maybe ... just maybe ... he'll be back in a few weeks - and he's simply being a stand up guy by letting a friend access his account so she can hustle up a few record sales. Who knows?
Either way, its a good look. Like this sandals I bought. You mad? Flip flops just saved my life.
