News: Swizz Beatz Says It's Showwwwwtime, "I Want Y'All To Understand The Movement"

Producer-turned-Reebok Classics Creative Director Swizz Beatz has promised to keep his brand growing and placed himself amongst fashion greats including Marc Jacobs and Karl Lagerfeld.

Talking to a packed New York City crowd during his a Reethym of Life sneaker launch, Swizzy said he plans to continue conquering new land.

"I want y'all to understand the movement and the opportunity that we all have. Reebok is definitely back. I am happy to be the creative director globally," he said. "That puts me up there with the Marc Jacobs and Karl Lagerfelds. To have that position coming from the South Bronx... I tell everybody that the sky is not the limit, it's just the view." (Miss Info)

Jacobs and Lagerfeld are both renowned for their fashion contributions.

Karl Lagerfeld, the 77-year-old fashion maestro, has been an industry leader for over 50 years and deisgns for Chanel, Fendi and his own label. American designer Marc Jacobs heads up industry behemoth Louis Vuitton as well as his own label and Marc by Marc Jacobs. (Daily Mail)

Last month, Swizzy talked to SOHH about cross promoting Reebok with his music.

"It's hard to keep it separate," Beatz told SOHH when asked about balancing music and his new Reebok business venture. "Especially when the main theme song behind the Go Global campaign is 'International Party.' It's something we shot a video for, a campaign for, so it's kind of hard to keep them separated when we have such a great partnership and such a great understanding. The brand is not going to exploit my brand or my music. It's more of a joint venture on a real level and even in every day living. It's not like I'm saying [my Reebok line], 'Kamikaze, Kamikaze, Kamikaze' all in people's faces. It's fun and I like being a part of the underdogs, that's what I came up in." (SOHH)

Beatz also talked about his aim at Reebok with high expectations and duties.

"It's not only on some urban level but really on a global level. They're letting me take the whole business model to the next level. I don't have an endorsement deal. I don't have a 'Swizz Beatz' sneaker. The Kamikaze [sneaker] is just a part of what we're doing as an entire brand. I'm [involved] in all categories from apparel to stuff we're doing in the art world, basketball and just everything from A to Z." (SOHH Guest Star)
