Def Jam South President DJ Khaled may be as eager as most hip-hop fans for Rick Ross' forthcoming God Forgives, I Don't solo album by labeling it a predestined classic.
When asked about the LP, Khaled said it is still underway but living up to high expectations.
"God Forgives, I Don't is a classic-in-the-making. Let me tell you something right now: This album is so crazy from the beginning of what I've been in the studio hearing already," Khaled said in an interview.. "I can't give you too much because I'm going to let him do that, because that's his project, but I could tell you right now it's classic and he is talking that talk. God Forgives, I Don't, it fits the time because right now it's no rules. We don't see 'em; we going hard and that's what Ross is doin'."" (MTV)
In January, Ricky Rozay announced plans to drop God Forgives, I Don't.
"I'm in Swisher Studios right now working on my new project," Ross told Power 105.1 radio hosts DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God and Angela Yee. "50 percent of the album [is] already [done]. This is the first time I'm revealing it, but the name of the album is God Forgives, I Don't...One of the records that I excluded off the [Ashes To Ashes] mixtape was 'Made Men' featuring the homie Drake. I wanted to put some final touches on it and I wanted to give you the opportunity to bless the world with that." (Power 105.1)
Last July, Ross' Teflon Don debuted at No. 2 right behind Eminem.
Grammy-winning rapper Eminem's Recovery has continued its reign atop the charts at No. 1 with 187,200 sold copies. According to Nielson SoundScan, the rapper's latest solo effort has sold 1,669,600 units after five weeks on the charts. Def Jam juggernaut Rick Ross' Teflon Don opened up this week at No. 2. Making his first non-number one solo debut, the "Boss" was able to shell out 176,700 pieces after seven days in stores. (SOHH Sales Wrap)
Drake previously named Ross' 2010 solo effort his personal favorite of last year.
"Favorite album of this year," Drake said in an interview, "[I'd say] Rick Ross. Rick Ross had the best album of this year, yeah. Phenomenal album." (Billboard)
As of now, there is no release date for God Forgives, I Don't.
