The war of words between G.O.O.D. Music and ex-affiliate Consequence appear to be far from over as past and present artists on the label have stepped up to speak out.
G.O.O.D. Music affiliate Rhymefest has defended the label's leader, Kanye West, saying he could never see himself dissing him due to their extensive history together.
"But as far as Kanye and his real homies notice that none of the guys he started with from Chicago talk sh*t about him. None of us.," Fest tweeted July 30th.
"Chicago Cats understand playing your position and organizational structure. We know that every man is responsible for his/her actions." (Rhymefest's Twitter)
G.O.O.D. Music's CyHi Da Prynce said he feels Cons' issues rest solely with Ye.
"I think the music speaks for itself on that end," Prynce said in an interview. "I don't really know [about the] relationships and business ventures and whatever - I'm the new guy. I just do me. I don't really worry about it as long as it don't get out of hand, like it gets threatening and stuff. If it just stays on wax and stuff, I'm cool." (Fake Shore Drive)
Earlier in the week, Cons directly responded to Pusha T's comments about him not having relevance.
"That guy said, 'He's an outsider and I'm an insider,'" Cons said referring to Pusha. "Let me tell you why Kanye West has never said anything to him regarding our situation. He's never said anything to him regarding our situation because he's a worker. He's a worker! He was jet fuel for Pharrell Williams, and he's going to be jet fuel for Kanye West. He's a live body." A day prior, Pusha dismissed Cons as a threat to his team.
"It's not internal because you have to be inside to be internal [conflict]," Pusha explained in an interview. "You're not inside. You know, it is what it is. Previously before, I've never answered this question because I've always felt like, me being the newest signee to G.O.O.D. Music, they have a history. Consequence, [Kanye West], those guys, they all have a history. It goes way before me. I never answered the question and I always thought it would blow over and people would be like, respectful. It doesn't make sense for me to answer it because I know Ye probably got love for dude. It goes back too far. Just to me, as it stands right now, it's funny because me and Ye have never talked about it. Not once. Never, not once. That in itself should tell you how serious it is. It's really not -- It's not like a back and forth thing because it doesn't do anything for me. The stuff he does isn't good, to me. I don't think you've ever been checking for it. Nobody's ever checked for it -- I've never checked for it and I'm a fan of rap. People I don't like in rap, I like they music and I've never checked for him." (DJ Moon Dawg)
