After back-and-forth reporting surrounding a possible upcoming reality show based on troubled artist DMX, the rapper's publicist has stepped forward to clear the air once and for all.
Despite initially claiming X had no intention of doing reality television, publicist Pam Pinnock said she was mistaken.
Initially, it was Pinnock who disputed the rumors that the rapper, who was recently released from prison, had a show in development. "X called me a few days ago and confirmed he had agreed to work with a select few and asked that I work in conjunction with these individuals. Last night, he called me again and requested that I clear up the rumors circulating that there is no reality show," she said, adding that she had been out of the country prior to his release from prison and wasn't aware of any new projects that her client had taken on. Earlier in the week, Pinnock dismissed reality television show talks.
A number of outlets reported that DMX was in the process of filming a reality show titled "X-tended Family" which would feature DMX reuniting with 10 of his children, some of whom he had allegedly never met before. According to DMX's official publicist, there is no reality show being produced around DMX's family at press time, and that source of the reports were most likely one of the rapper's disgruntled ex-girlfriend's. Last weekend, X's alleged reality show plans hit the Internet.
It's been five years since DMX has released an album but he plans to release his seventh and newest album this fall. "I'm gonna take it coast to coast, from New York to California." says the multi-platinum rapper. The main difference will be his focus. Along with music, DMX will also be directing his attention on his "domestic dreams", like uniting his 10 children and bringing them together for the first time.?? Another new twist is his interest in his own reality TV show. The working title of the show is "X-tended Family". The show is only conceptual thus far, but it will focus on his life as an artist as well as a father and it promises to give an uncensored look of his day-to-day operations.?? (The Open Press)
X became a free man last week after serving time behind bars stemming from a probation violation.
Stop us if you've heard this one before. DMX, the rapper-actor/jail magnet, was released from a Yuma, Ariz., prison today after spending seven months locked up for violating his probation. After he was met by a small coterie of family and friends, DMX (real name Earl Simmons) headed over to his probation officer to check in, then went on a little shopping spree. Along the way, he caught up with those closest to him and unveiled his plans to revive his dormant career. (E! Online)
