Dipset's Juelz Santana has come forward to speak on a drug raid at his New Jersey recording studio earlier this year and why the accusations against him hold no weight.
Santana said despite his absence during the raid, police have still held him accountable for confiscated weapons.
"My name is the biggest so of course they are going to target me as the one to put a lot of the blame on," the Harlem MC said. "I had no clue on what's going on, I rent the studio out to people. That's like if I rent the studio out right now to somebody and they choose to bring whoever they want to bring in to the studio. They rented the studio out; I have no knowledge of what's going on until I come back and your [rental] time is finished." (Rapfix)
While he avoided drug charges, Santana did have to own up to the weapons.
"They charged me with the firearms," he added. "They didn't charge me with trying to sell, but they put out a statement making it seem like I was selling weed out of my studio, which is preposterous. Dime bags? I got a phantom and a Bentley outside of my studio; I'm not selling dime bags. That sh-- is just crazy." (Rapfix)
Last February, after being arrested, Santana opened up about what exactly took place.
"I'm a free man out on bail," Santana told radio host Angie Martinez. "I'm just doing my regular thing, I'm still me. It's just an unfortunate situation, got caught up...They raided my studio, said things was going on. The charges was just kind of crazy...For one, I wasn't even in my studio when they raided. They raided my studio, they found whatever they want to say they found, and they just put a bunch of charges on me...They had a warrant out for my arrest since last week. I had just turned myself in and I was supposed to be out right there -- but once I get in there, they're like, 'Oh, the computers is down because of the ice storms and all that.' I'm like, 'Wow.' ... I'm definitely going to be fighting this, because like I said, they didn't catch me with nothing. My studio is a place where a bunch of people come in and out. They put me out as selling dime bags of weed. That's a joke! ... I wasn't even there. Never in the case of history would you find Juelz selling no dime bags of marijuana." (Hot 97)
Santana was arrested around early February in New Jersey.
Authorities today dropped additional charges on rapper/producer Juelz Santana in connection with two fully-loaded 9mm handguns, several boxes of ammunition, and 17 dime bags of pot they said they found while arresting freestyle rapper Toby M. "Hynief" Raynor last month. (Cliffview Pilot)
