Rap mogul Jay-Z may not be preparing to switch from music to acting but Young Hov was spotted alongside Hollywood blockbuster actor Will Smith during the production of his forthcoming Men In Black III film.
Photos of Hov and Smith on set landed across the Internet Monday (June 20).
During filming Will also received a visit on set from rapper Jay-Z. The chart-topper - real name Shawn Carter - was spotted laughing and joking with the star as they filmed scenes for the blockbuster in New York's Battery Park. Will recently announced that Jay-Z is teaming up with his production company Overbrook Entertainment to develop and produce films. (Global Grind)
Plot details and featured stars have also been revealed.
Few details of the film's plot have been revealed, but it is known that time travel will be an important plot device. Agent J will have to go back to the 1960s to visit a young Agent K, who is played by True Grit star Josh Brolin. Villain Boris will travel back in time to try to kill Agent K, in order to set off a chain of events which will result in the end of the world. Alice Eve, Emma Thompson, Nicole Scherzinger, Rip Torn and Johnny Knoxville will also appear in the latest instalment of the sci-fi action comedy. (Daily Mail)
Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett, recently talked about their partnership alongside Hov.
"He's very professional, he's a good partner, and we are about to do a movie with him, the 'Annie' joint with Willow [Smith], so he's a good partner...You know, we just have great teams and we have great partnership. It's all about partnering. And that's the thing that I've learned about being in this business. You can't expect to do great things by yourself that you have to be able to partner up with people." ("Great American Morning Show")
In January, Jay-Z officially teamed up with Will Smith and Jada for a joint venture.
Will Smith, Jada Pinkett-Smith and their partners at Overbrook Entertainment have formed a joint-venture with Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter to develop and produce major motion pictures. The partnership between Will and Jada and Jay-Z began when the three decided to invest in the beauty line Carol's Daughter. Their next venture together was when they joined forces again to co-produce the Broadway play "Fela!" Since then, Willow Smith, who is managed by Overbrook's Miguel Melendez, has signed to Roc Nation and released first single "Whip My Hair." (Billboard)
