Exclusive: "Real N*ggas Do Real Things & 50 Cent Is An Official N*gga"
Wednesday, May 4, 2011 5:30PM
After revealing rap star 50 Cent came through and showed support at his Reallionaire album release party a few days ago, Kidd Kidd gives SOHH the inside scoop on the G-Unit leader's surprise appearance.
Kidd Kidd pointed out 50's realness and his interest in showing love for artists on the come-up despite being a multi-million dollar rap star.
"Real n*ggas do real things and 50 Cent is an official n*gga," Kidd Kidd told SOHH. "He's a real n*gga and I don't care what any n*gga's got to say about him. Anything anybody's got to say about 50 they might as well say it about me too. Real n*gga sh*t. He came to my album release party and this man called me. He called me himself. He didn't need nobody to call me and he came himself. He hit me up like, 'Yo, what's up Kidd? What's up with you?' And this was before the party and all of that, he wanted to holler at me and I respect that because most people in the game, they go into that Hollywood talk and they send their people to talk to your people. But 50 came at me direct and I respect that. It's a respect thing, you feel me? There's not too many real out there that do what they do. He told me when he comes down to New Orleans, he's gonna come and get at me. And that's what happened. He came to the N.O. and got with me. Whatever I got going on, he came and supported me. He didn't have to be there but he came through. He didn't come through on some, 'I'm gonna need some money for this appearance,' nah, my dog came through, performed and everything." (SOHH)
When giving SOHH readers his Top 5 Reasons to purchase Reallionaire this week, Kidd revealed 50's visit to "The Big Easy."
"I got a family to feed. We all got families to feed. Holler at your boy. When I say family, I mean everybody in general. That goes for the kids, mom, people in jail, people I'm trying to get out of these streets. Family is a deep word. So when I say that, I really just mean me and my folks because I'm tired of seeing this struggle. I'm tired of seeing my people killed and going to jail. I wake up to this everyday. Shout-out to my partner Tyson who just came home [from jail] yesterday. I just had the album release party the other night and 50 Cent came through. Love was love. You gotta remember, my boy was locked down for years, comes home and sees me doing my thing and we're at my album release party. He's like, "That's 50 Cent! What's he doing in the hood?" Just to see that look on his face, that inspires me. I really gotta get my people out of the struggle." (SOHH Buy My Record)
New York rapper Saigon previously hyped up 50's hood credibility.
"Sha Money XL introduced me to 50 early in his career," Saigon revealed in an October 2009 interview. "We sat down and chopped it up. I was actually G-Unit'ed out at one point. I was running around screaming that sh*t and all that. Like 'G-Unit n*gga!' 'cause me and Fif chopped it up...But we had a falling out, we both Cancers -- so as far as us being alpha-males, it's hard to co-exist around that n*gga. A lot of times it's his way or the highway. We kinda bumped heads, early...He never attempted, I never attempted to fix it. But to see him succeed, I kinda felt like I was succeeding...That n*gga Fif was like us, he's a goon, he's in the street, he wasn't no studio gangsta n*gga. He was a real n*gga, so for him to make it outta that -- seeing him make it out of that was kinda like gratification for me in a weird way...Sha Money is my manager now and Sha Money still works with Fif and if Fif ain't want that to go down, it wouldn't happened."
