Days after incarcerated rapper Lil Boosie released an in-jail photo of himself, he has now opened up about what his experience has been like since getting placed into 23-hour lockdown last summer.
Boosie said due to his celebrity, he has been removed from the Angola, Louisisan jail general population.
"Some days I'm maintaining, but I'm missing my family and the life I had out there," Boosie explained in an interview. "My first seven months I was in population, but since June I've been on 23-hour lockdown. They said they're trying to protect me because of who I am...They got people get stabbed here, killed here. Pretty rough people here. A lot of rats here, snitches." (XXL Mag)
The rapper also promised to escape his home state once he is freed.
"[I'm here] 'cause of the songs I made, before I was indicted, about the police in Baton Rouge and what's going on here," Boosie added. "There's a lot with our record label, that the system don't like...They took my hard drive out of my house after I got arrested. I have albums for days in there. They still haven't returned it. They've had it for d*mn near a year now. I need that music...I'm leaving Louisiana the first day I get out of prison. I'm a major target down here. I'll thank God for everything and get back to the money." (XXL Mag)
A few days ago, a shirtless in-jail photo of Boosie began circulating online.
Lil Boosie wants his fans to know that although he's currently locked down his name still holds strong in the Hip-Hop game. Over the weekend a photo of the MC emerged, showing the Louisiana rapper for the first time since his incarceration draped in jewelry in a cell he's currently housed in. In the candid photo, the 'Wipe Me Down" rapper appears in good spirits despite the numerous felony charges he's currently facing. A shirtless Boosie is depicted with many gold chains, including one with an anchor and a gold studded bracelet. Boosie's ice game has seen better times for the flashy rapper who displayed millions of dollars on the average day but is now facing financial battles separate from his legal issues. (RapFix)
Last June, Boosie was indicted on murder charges dating back to October 2009.
Torrance "Lil Boosie" Hatch was indicted in the October 21st shooting death of Terry Boyd. Michael Louding and Adrian Pittman are also indicted on first degree charges on Boyd's murder. East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Hillar Moore says all three of the alleged killers meet the criteria of first degree charges. Moore said that the death penalty is not out of the question. Hatch and girlfriend Walnita Decuir along with a former Dixon Correctional Institute guard and an inmate were also indicted on drug charges. (WAFB News)
