After initial media speculation last weekend, producer Hit-Boy has come forward to confirm his induction into Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music team.
Known for his record producing, Hit-Boy said fans can expect to hear his signature touch on G.O.O.D. Music projects from here on out.
"Yeah, man it's definitely official," Hit said when asked about the new association. "We've got a lot of things going with Kanye West right now. Just be on the lookout. I'm a part of the production team, so I'll be working on various projects over there, pretty much everybody from [Kid] Cudi to 'Ye to Big Sean--everybody...It's been in the works for three months, since 'Christmas in Harlem.' We just had to get the business right and it finally came together. I signed a couple of weeks ago." (VIBE)
Hit also described his reaction to Yeezy reaching out to have him join the team.
"It was a dream come true. It's Kanye West! It's crazy. It ain't really hit me until I actually had went to work. We worked side by side--making beats together and coming up with ideas --with the beats I was making and the beats that I already had. He's a person I had said I admire so much." (VIBE)
Speculation on the producer's power move became public last weekend.
Hit-Boy of the Surf Club has now joined forces with Kanye West's G.O.O.D Music label. New Wave for sure. Be on the look out for future endeavors from Hit-Boy & Kanye West. Jay-Z may even be included! (Its The Surf Club)
Last year, Kanye West made headlines for recruiting The Clipse's Pusha T and Mos Def to G.O.O.D.
The Brooklyn MC and West talk about the deal and break down their musical relationship in the October issue of XXL, which comes out on Tuesday and features a Kanye cover story. And Mos Def makes an appearance on West's G.O.O.D. Friday single "Lord, Lord, Lord," along with Swizz Beatz, Raekwon and singer Charlie Wilson. Mos' decision to join G.O.O.D. Music follows the release of his last album, The Ecstatic, on indie label Downtown Records in 2009. The rapper/actor and Kanye first collaborated on the Chicago MC's College Dropout, for "Two Words," and then again on "Drunk and Hot Girls." (MTV)
